whats my chances against this STi?

ok my friend has an STi with AEM intake, claims 5" downpipe haha from Turboxs, cat delete, 3" Turboxs RFL Ti. and Nitrous Express Intercooler spray.

i will be running my mods below minus the nitrous (line bursted) and 115 octane. what boost can i run on that Turbo Blue gasoline? im goin to Dragway 42 tomorrow to race him. it seems pretty fast when he pulled away from starbux tonight. what do you guys think?

I'd give you the edge. With 115 octane I'm thinking you can crank up your boost quite a bit. You really could use something to lean out your fuel, I'd be willing to bet you'd smoke him then.

I think your car should take his. STi with those mods should be around 270-280 awhp. (I think 5" dp is a BS)

With his stock turbo, a 5 in downpipe would be useless. I'm thinking he's full of crap. Have you checked out his car to see what he has done to it?

4" ok makes sense now, this guy likes to exadurate, but ya we goin to the drag strip at 3 today, the roads are still wet right now (9:20am) from last night. but it should be nice today. i know for sure he has

TurboXS DP
TurboXS Cat Delete
TurboXS Titanium RFL catback
AEM CAI
Grounding kit
NX N-tercooler spray on the top mount

1 big problem is, i seen him launch that thing, and man they just grab right up, my evo likes to clutch spin and it pisses me off, i tried dropping it at like 4500 a month or so ago and the clutch just slipped so mind u my clutch is goin bad too, what should i do when launching it, feather it out slower?

rev to 5000 rpm and do an aggressive slip

then when you finished

save up for a new clutch

You will school him if you have any idea how to drive. That STI will do no better than 13.3/103. Even though you have neglected the most important aspect of tuning you car (Engine Management), you should be good for a 13.0/105 if you turn up the boost a little.

With those mods the STi should be good for ~12.7@106. I've gone 13.3@102 in my stock STi.
As usual, it will probably come down to driver.

If the STI has a good driver, expect it to do lower than 13.3
