i have found something very strange (to me atleast) i have notice with the mods i do have (listed below) that i have an *** load of top end.......i was under the impression (sp) that the lancer was saposta be quicker off the line than what it feels like in my car......i feel a lot more comfortable racing top-end because it pulls like a ****. Here is a question......on a launch, what is ur lanuch RPM's??? in other words how much/least do u feather ur clutch (pop it at 2500, or ease out of it at 1500???)?

 

I just rev too about 2k and have the clutch out just far enugh that it ownt engage till the flag is dropped. I know its not the greatest thing to do to a clutch but it works for me.

 

those hp/tq. numbers are at the flywheel, awd will lose more than the fwd car does, also I believe the lancer is lighter then the rs. I've raced on before I got the exhuast or scoop, or test pipe, or lightened it, didn't win. did get the jump but got pulled on. Female driver too, so hot. I can stand to lose to a girl, especially if I jumped, makes the drive home much better.

the car is all about the top end...in a race or at the track I dump the clutch hard. 2000 is a little moderate, like wags said, I have the revs up there but at last second I like to slam the gas, pause momentarily, then drop the clutch, as soon as tires engage long enough I shift, don't try any of that 2nd to 4th or 3rd to 5th crap because all the power is 5k +

 

Yeah I raced a civic ex from a stop light. Pretty nice looking one
to. I ate him up like he was nothing. I had just intake and exhaust and he had atleast an intake if not more by the sound
of the engine. It was a 94' model. Those are rated at 130 hp
sohc vetec aren't they? Also raced an Acura legend not sure
what they are rated but got him off the line and all the ways to
fourth he was catching me in fifth but the lanes merged. sometimes the lancer surprises me with its low hp and torque rating.








Cant' wait till I get my Turbo hell yeah!
