I've had the car for less than a month, so I'm hardly an expert on how best to drive it. I usually shift at 2,500 from 1-2 and between 2,000-2,500 for all the rest. I thought this would save gas as MIVEC kicks in at 3,000. Should I be shifting higher? It seems like a lot of people do.

Okay I shift over 3000 normally around 3500 the tilton doesn't like it. It makes the ride smother I think. Hard driving on pump with the 280 around 7300 race gas and high boost around 7700.

I usually shift between 2500-3000. If the car is still warming up in these wretched Wisconsin winters, I make it a point to shift at around 2300... the car is pretty boggy if you do that, but I'd rather be far away from peak torque and HP than have the turbo spooling when my car is ice cold in -30*F temperatures.

You can most definitely hear the turbo spooling at 3000, but if you listen really carefully (at least with my car) you can hear the turbo at around 2500 rpm already.

It sure is fun taking the car to 3,500 and hearing the turbo a lot, though!

3000 - 5 or 6000 depending on mood. Typically 4000 on the freeway. If ideal power is right at 6.5 I'll probably try that beyond the first couple shifts.

A quick question, do you guys shift at redline or shift when you feel the car is not pulling anymore?
