Riding the Clutch?

i blew my first clutch in my mx3. my dad wops a mechanic says it was sheered almost smooth, but the transmission side as almost brand new. he says im riding the clutch.
the problem is i know im not riding the clutch. i kno exqactly what that mean, and i tell myself not to do it. maybe every once in awhile when i hit traffic on the highway. but nothing to cause that kind of problem.

when it went, i was on the highway in 5th gear. going fine. no slipping in any gears. i got on the exit ramp, slowed down for a bit, then put in the clutch and stopped at the light. on the green light my clutch was gone.

my dad said the clutch was sheered smooth. which leads me to believe since there was no slipping at all, there was one incident. gettin off the highway it was very difficult to put it in first again, while moving at about 30 and slowing down.

what do u think could have happend? the damage to the clutch is not consistent with a re-occuring bad driving technique, since there was no slipping ever.

Master cylinder pushrod might have been misadjusted. That would cause slight pressure on the clutch at all times, just as if you were riding the clutch.
