eliminate your blind spots

found this out in my 8 driver improvement class. this eliminates blind spots w/use of mirrors.

from the driver's seat put your head up to the window and adjust your driver-side mirror so that you can just barely see the side of the car. then for the passenger side, line your left ear up to your rear view mirror and adjust your passenger-side so that you can barely see the side of the car.

on my lancer i find that it's just adjusting your mirrors as far out as they can go.

the way it works is that your blind spots are now covered by the side view mirrors, and your rearview mirror covers the area your side view mirrors once covered. and ofcourse you your right and left is covered by your own peripheral vision.

i was in the class cuz i got a speeding ticket |: P

ahem, usually, I just turn my head real quick to have a glance. That's how my driving instructor taught me and I stuck to that since day 1.

Hm sounds cool, i guess ill try it. Our lancers have a nasty blind spot too. Those big *** a-pillars, if only they were see thru or smaller or something, I almost got smashed because it totally blocked a car and i slammed on my breaks...

I have done this for some time now. It is kind weird in the beginning, that it really works.

I use a combination of the mirror and the quick peek. The quick peek is basically from habit, though.

I ride a motorbike as well, so I always look over my shoulder. Just force of habit.
