I personally like AlpineStars. Their racing shoes are very comfortable, and pedal feel is very good. I also prefer their gloves, the best and most comfortable fitting IMOP

yeah, alpinestars rock for purposemade track shoes..

you dont want to walk around in real race shoes...

their gloves are amazing..

it was nice, i was sponsored by Alpinestars in 2002/2003... so I have new gloves every two weekends, and 3 pairs of shoes per season.

I tear **** up in my Nike SB Dunks.

The heel is just wide enough for some sick heel-toe downshifts.

Sorry this is a terribly late reply and probably worthless now, but for whatever it may be worth to you or anyone else - they run friggin NARROW. I have kind of wide feet though, but they are totally narrower than any Adida, Reebok, Nike equiv. The length is probably accurate, I usually wear a 12 and the length seems normal. But for everyone with wide feet you'll have to get some longer laces and not lace them tight

I've got pumas and I love them. They even look great when i'm not driving (bu they're a little uncomfortable for walking.

I really liked the Oakley race boots I had. They are basically just a high top shoe but gave you ankle support. HELLA comfortable!

Ive also had Puma's and Piloti's both are nice as well.

I'm not crazy about my first pair of Pilotis but really really like my new ones. And they're kind of classy looking.....the leather Stradales.

Bling bling. I wear the less classy ones for real driving.

I'm interested in the Piloti Prototipos, seem like decent shoes for 85$.
