Shifting to neutral without clutching

Hey guys, the other day I shifted into neutral without depressing the clutch and it didn't grind or anything. Is this ok? I mean, is it ok to shift to neutral without clutching???

reason it went into neutral easy and diddnt "pop" without using your clutch 'cuz you matched the RPMs

you can shift with no clutch by this method, but not recommended.

The reason it didn't grind is because you didn't put it into any gear. If you would have pulled it (or pushed) any further then it would have made contact with a gear and you would've had that familiar grinding noise.

This is perfectly ok, though I wouldn't recommend doing it out of 1st gear on most trannies.
