HA HA yeah the first time I launched and EVO it was a 400 whp car. Had no problem even though I didn't slip the clutch. Then I got mine a month later (near stock) tried to launch and didn't slip the clutch.. BOGGGGGGG wtf. Tried it again with slipping the clutch. Talk about a difference.

I thought the 06 models had two step standard, well the rev limiter stops at 5k while car is standing still. THis not true? I've never tried.

yes on the 06 evo's on a stand still the 2 step is set at 5k rpms. unless you slip the clutch the car will always bog. unless of course your pushing 350whp +

That would be awesome and useful. I'm new to the evo ix and I don't want to burn my clutch out or ruin my tranny launching.

Yes they do, if you have a boost gauge you can see your boost build with the factory launch control, mine goes up to 7-9 pounds while standing still.

I had a tough time learning to launch an AWD car when I bought my 03' WRX. I stepped up to a 04' STi and that thing was easy to launch. I've yet to try my Evo X since I keep reading about weak clutches..

I think you're gonna have to learn the old fashioned way. You have heard what others have said now go feel it out. And have $$$ set aside for a new clutch and install.
