welp. i'm not speaking from experience..but when i think about it, drifting with rwd is a little different from drifting with awd. with rwd, you use the front wheel to guide the car as the back swings around. with awd all the tires are spinning so it depends on how fast you swing around and how fast your tires are spinning..just some guesses though

well, as I read it, RWD is the best kind of vehicle to drift in... easiest to control, and such. I think that the reason the WRC EVO is doing so poorly is that you really can't slide the bastard too well (see several comparisons of the STi and the EVO... STi loves to slide, EVO pretty much only goes where pointed... great for street, not so great for rally/drifting... that's just one non-experts verdict on the matter.) Anyway, That's my two cents... I kinda thought that this was the best place to do that.

Oh, and I've also done a 180... handbreak used... Also got a pretty decent J-turn out of it... this was in an UNOCCUPIED parking lot, of course, with no street lights.

Maybe I'm not reading what you wrote correctly, but the WRX is also AWD. The difference between the two cars handling characteristics is their suspension designs. WRXs were designed specifically for dirt. EVOs have more of a pavement friendly suspension design.

Bzzt. Wrong. The main difference between the two cars is the... anyone? ACD/AYC. Makes for those "spirited canyon runs" a little predictable. In that, the WRX benefits from the art of the slide, while the EVO pretty much goes where it's pointed, and makes it easier to drive on loose gravel/dirt like you're driving on tarmac. At least that's how I read the comparisons. Now, something like the Peugeot 206 WRC benefits from the slide, is fairly powerful, and is kicking the crap out of the EVO. Watch Speed channel on Sunday nights to see what I'm talking about. Of course, working the kinks out of the EVO WRC is part of it, but...
