I wish I knew where I was shifting. My parents bought a truck that's stick and it doesn't have a tachometer. Which kinda sucks since you can't have the radio too loud. Oh well...I shift when it needs to.

when I go in to gas saving mode and drive like a grandma, i shift at 2.5k on a regular road. Yes I look like a turtle trying to cross the street but hey I'm saving gas. When i go onto the highway I usually wait until 3.5k just so other turtles dont hit me when accelerating in the slow lane. Using this methood on a WHOLE tank of gas i got 290mile on one tank! I have only done this once since I love the feel of accelerating and sometimes get the urge to light the rocket. But i would say on average using this methood along with some play time here and there I'm looking at 250miles per tank. I usually also find my self crusing in 5th gear at 35,40MPH. at these speeds i can hold my speed but if i have to accelerate then i must downshift if I need to get some quick pickup.

shift

when the engine isnt fully warmed up yet.. i avoid the turbo spool and shift around 2.7k... once its fully warmed up... ill probably shift around 3k ... gas milage has been good... if u want to accelerate onto a highway... i'd shift at 4k.. which after shift would hit 3k.. and keep me in the powerband...

If I remember correctly the factory manuel has suggested shift points......As for me I shift between 2.5k and 3.5k.... It just depends what girls are next to me......
