That is totally awesome. How about a 91 octane/race gas dual flash on one and a pure race gas flash on the other. Is that an option? That way I can have the best of both...

thanks again,

AL,
I just bought all these goodies and have to install them now how much more pwr will i make with your tune over the tune that Buschur gave me for there SAFC2?
MODS to be installed:
BR intake
BR MAF pipe
BR Upper IC pipe with 1G BOV
BR Mini Battery
BR SAFC 2 w/ BR settings
Ultimate racing turbo back with Test pipe
Excedy Twin Disc Clutch (AL where do i get this install the cheapest!)
Hallman MBC
Walbro 255lb

Also how did Buscher racing get 343WHP out of there Stage 2 car with the SAFC?

Quote from BR site:
"Once you've completed Stage 1, you will be approaching 300whp. In Stage 2, we further improve the flow of the charge air into the engine. By optimizing the airflow into the turbocharger and eliminating the flow restrictions in the upper intercooler plumbing, we have been able to push our EVO to 343whp at the same 19psi boost level used in Stage 1. Our upper intercooler pipe upgrade eliminates 6 bends and 16 inches of length. Because the flowpath of the pipe was so important, it necessitated a solution to relocate the battery. This has been resolved with our battery kit. Looking at the intake hose from the mass air pipe to the turbo, it was apparent to us that improvements could be made. To this end we have developed a smooth flowing 3" intake pipe. These Stage 2 modifications were developed with our future modifications in mind. For example, we designed the upper intercooler pipe kit to work with our upgraded front mount intercooler kit so that you would not be forced to repurchase parts that you've already upgraded. "

Al, I'm planning on bringing C16 for the race fuel duel flash when you're back in Chicago. Sounds like I can get away with leaded fuel for a while. But, if the O2 sensor goes, what kind of replace/repair costs are to be expected?

With tha flash the gains will be more on driveability - smopothness and increased tq down low

I think you can make just as much peak whp with the AFC as you can with the reflash - its just that the flash does a better job

Al I am planning on getting some work done at Pruven soon, new cams, headstuds, injectors, cat delete, etc.... I have a custom tune by u and am going to want to have another tune done by u as well and I'm very interested as to whut I would need to run this dual stage flash. I am planning on running at the Oct31 shoot out at englishtown and so I want a race tune as well as a street gas tune. Do I need a second ECU for this or do u somehow set up the original one to be able to switch between a street and race tune map depending on the boost it sees or how ever u set it up? Lookin to join the 11 second Dynoflash club once I get it tuned for 100 octane and run at englishtown.
thanks

Very interesting... I'm wondering if you are using the OE "fail safe" map as a primary in this set up though...

Interesting indeed ! When i get down there to Texas I'll be happy to give you a demonstration first hand of Dyno Flash power !!!!!!! (Its no accident that I am the only reflash tuner with Evos running 11's second passes - 10 of them as of now)

To answer my question though, are we losing a safety net? What happens when you get a bad tanks of gas? What map does the ECU fall back on? Or can it?

With the dual stage flash - the only changes are made to the load reference in the bottom line of the tuning map which you should never reach in any event below 22 psi. We create the additional tune in that area

The knock protection and dual mapping features continue as stock

The only difference is IF you hit high boost over 23 psi then you will be on the more agressive settings

As posted in earlier posts - this is best advised with a electric boost controller with warning function to prevent against accidental over boosts
