Thks.

If the car is running well expect idel BOV issues then you will only need a short time - we can work something out. With that said - in many cases just changing the BOV will not require a re-tune. Try it and see how it works.
However - Buschur tells me that he has developed a new MAF Pipe which greatly improves idel and driveability on the Stage 4. This pipe seems to greatly improve the idel and driveability - BUT - DOES require a complete retune of the car because it alters the MAF SIGNAL.
I would suggest you arrange to get a new MAF pipe from Buschur and also a BOV and consider a re-tune. If that is all you are changing we can work out a reduced price. Give me a call.

O.K. Al, I know I've asked before, but here it goes again. I have a k&n drop-in, 3" tb, forge re-circ., Profec-B @ 21-20 psi, and your flash. I am thinking about getting a custom tune when you come to Chicagoland. If so, I should probably get my mods (cams 264/272, walbro 255) that I want some time in the future BEFORE you come to town, correct? A tune for an EVO with cams is going to be significantly different than without I am assuming? On a different thread, you stated that I would not need to get an AFC-II, although if I decided to get more mods down the road it would be a good thing to have because your custom tune is only good for the current mods at the time of tune right? I am just having trouble deciding what tuning route to take, and really, what modifications also. I love the reliability, idle quality and power of my car, but I could always go for more power! Whats my best bang for buck? Also, are you going to need a O2 bung on the dp for a wideband with the custom tune?

The AFC II is not needed but can not hurt
As for a bung - we generally use the rear o2 sesnor bung which is located in the rear muffler section. 90% of muffler systems have this - however a small minority - such as some UR versions have an extender in the cat delete pipe and do not have the rear o2 bung in the stock location. Best path is to visually check your rear o2 sesnor location. If it is in stock location - flush to the pipe then we can use that and will need no additional bungs welded on.
Thanks

He said he wants a 264,272 cams. In your experience how is the idle on this setup, and what is your prefernce of the 2.

They all make about the same peak whp within 2 - 3 whp with the stock turbo and they all just move the power band about slightly one way or the other - this is from our dyno testing
IMHO the 264 / 264 HKS is best on the stock ecu b/c it has the most useable idel and the least roughness
IMHO if you want to go beyond that you are far better off going with JUN 264 or piper cams - both of which out perfrom the HKS 272 by a huge margin - but which will make your car idel like total garbage on the stock ecu
I hope that answers your question
I am assuming then that the custom tune does not concentrate on lower rpm and idle tuning rather than upper rpm range? Also, would you suggest to get the fuel pump before the tune? You also have head studs for sale, correct? If I do the cams (probably the 264 combo).

The fuel pump - walbro 255 LPH is a very good idea
You can pay pal me for the head studs and I will ship them now paypal@dynoflash.com They are $50 shipped. A deposit for the tuning day is $100 and indicate which time slot you prefer
Al,
Is there anyway to get a custom flash that utilizes the dual flash technology. I just got the mail-in not too long ago and got good results, but was looking for someway to be tuned for racegas and higher boost. I know that I read in a thread that you were working on this and that I would be able to run a 93oct. 20.5psi tune and also a race gas/higher boost tune. If you are able to do this you can put me down for a custom tune

I would suggest you take the last time slot or do Friday night
You need to bring 5 gallons or good race fuel - I suggest something like C-16 or the like a 118 octane leaded race fuel is what I suggest
After we finish your custom road tune for rump gas then we dial in the settings for the race gas map
Its the same price as the tune for pre-existing customers $299
Pay pal over a deposit and let me know which night is better for you - I like to take the last sopt becuase it does take some time. Whne you arrive for your tune leave only 1/4 tank of pump gas in the tank = thanks
where about's in Chicago are you gonna be. I might be interested. I'm currently in the process of putting together some go-fast parts. I already have injen intake w/ic pipe. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do the buschur 3" w/magnaflow muffler and a test pipe. My Birthday is coming up soon so I'm gonna hit my parents up for some money so I can do this stuff. I would like to have cams and cam gears but I'm not sure about that((money wise)). thanks for any help.
