Best $199 you could spend on a car

Hey guys, well I got a base flash today because my car is stock except for a k&n panel filter. All I have to say is WOW!!!! Al flashed my car and drove it on I-95 while I was in the passenger seat, what a difference. I also must remark that he flashed me in a timely manner ( less than 1 hour with 2 other cars there getting flashed) with complete professionalism. I have nothing but praise for this guy. Where else can you get 20 or more horse for $199 in less than an hour? I think your new slogan Al should be like lens crafters, "base flashes in about an hour." Well, when all was said and done, Al felt my car pulled real strong as did I, so no money back for me; as a matter of fact, I gave him $200, and he went to give me $1 back and I said , "that's o.k. keep it," he said, "our base flashes are $199, this is your $1." He earned my business for as long as I own my car. I am glad Al and I think I have a strong running (and clean) evo now. Now to E-town to see what I can run. Thanks again Al, it was a great joy and you can be sure I will send anyone I see with an evo in CT ( I know of 3 in Fairfield) your way soon, take care Bro, you have another believer......

Punisherofall,

Do you have any idea what numbers your Evo is making now? Is it anywhere near 300 at the wheels? Just wondering what to expect when I get my ecu flashed.

Kevo8,
I didn't have my car on the dyno, but I am confident it is close to that if not more. I have done track based roll ons with a stock sti and a audi s4 with apr chip, cat delete exhaust and downpipe ~330- 350 hp. I killed the sti from 50 mph to 120 mph by about 4 car lengths. The s4 and I were dead even up to 120 where he began to pull me above 120. I am very pleased with the flash, whatever power I am making is more than stock by a substantial amount. $199 and I can hang with 95% of the cars out there, pretty good if you ask me. Hope this helps bro.

Kevo, I guesstimate I am making ~300 to the CRANK, not to the wheels. 300 to the wheels is like 360 hp, requiring much more than just a flash.

Well blue bannana, I was at Pruven and Al had 2 other cars to flash with one on the dyno when I arrived, so I had to wait for the car on the dyno to do some pulls then when it was cooling down, al flashed me and we drove around. The actual flash process was less than 1 minute, but time of arrival at Pruven till time of departure (with test drives) was about an hour.

Punisherofall,

This is such good news for me knowing my Evo will very soon be more powerful than my STi I traded in. And with just a reflash, WOW! I'm definitely getting it done when DynoFlash comes up to Chicago in a few weeks. Thanks for your convincing thread.

Cool Kevo8, glad I could help. I believe you will not only like the power, but the smooth torque curve and better driveability. I am floored by how well this car runs now (and I only have a k&n + base flash; no boost controller yet or gauge so I can bring it into mitsu when needed.) Please let me know how you like the car after the flash, redline comes very quick after Al works his magic. This is the way the car should have been from the factory!!
Stay safe,

Punisherofall,

Did you need a custom flash with the K&N panel filter, or was it just a base flash? I'm also thinking getting the flash and a panel filter, unless I need a custom flash...then I'm thinking I'll add a dp or a full turbo back exhaust. By the way, what is the K&N filter going for?

No Kevo, just a base flash is all I have= $199. I think the k&n was like $65, but I am not 100% positive. I have the panel filter. Hope this helps, I am still very happy with this flash.
