Yes - we agree - I was very - VERY - impressed with the work of Slick - a super great unit for something some one designed in their own shop and the JDM style fmic pipes were a great touch !

thanks guys...i know matt the owner of slickmotorsports will be proud to hear such praise of his handywork. He gets it a lot from locals and people that know of him....but it means a lot on the board here...me and matt have been tossing around ideas for a new bigger turbo setup if this setup gets maxed out. If and when that occurs i will be selling this setup as a bolt in application to someones car and then going complete custom again for more power and even better results. But still got faith in 10s on this setup for sure
Dave

I wont sale it, as anything bigger means more lag. its up to you but I dont like lag. I am sure your setup will put you in the high high 10. I mean your last resort will be a stroker kit and then you got it all

i am not scared of lag...( i have heard you are...hehe) its pretty easy to drive a car to reduce the affects of a larger turbo's increased lag. There are also ways of combating the increased lag and reducing it...such as timing and such...either way i can get 25 psi by 4000 rpms ...if i get a better designed exhaust manifold and a gt35r i should be able to hit 25 psi by 4300 ish....fine by me as lag isn't top priority to me as long as inbetween shifts it hits fast

I come from German cars, S4 and Gti's. full boost at 1800RPM . I don’t like lag but I like top end too thats why I choose Gt30R ( 3071) . I am not a big fan of drag racing so I always want some power on the low end. my plan is to make my EVO only 2800 LBS and about 450whp on race gas that should put me in the high 10's and make it a great track car as well. But I really like your setup you put some great effort in it and thats what makes it so special.
oh and ofcourse the 2.3 stroker

i think that no matter what turbo i got with i will keep the engine 2.0L of displacement. I just think that since many of the fasteset ie...ams, dynoflash have the 2.0L i feel that it is a good way to go.

IMHO - with the gearing on the evo you need to stay 2.0 L to get the most out of the engine as 4th gear at 140 mph will be over 9,000 rpms

Az3ar, 10s with 450 whp is a lil optimistic. Or are you talking about 450 whp on Shiv's dyno. Also with your 3071 turbo you do have more lag than Smoggy's TME turbo setup and less peak whp. I feel that the Atp3071 kit hosed you and others. Its potential is limited and I believe there are better options out there. FWIW Yes I can tell my car has a lil more lag when cruising around at low speeds but the beast that lies beneath when I am not cruising makes it more than worth it IMO. Az3ar not trying to be disrespectful but 10s on your limited turbo is not going to happen. Get a bigger turbo and quit using the lag excuse as justification for your choice of being hosed for an inferior turbo kit. Yes I paid more but I got more. Alot more.

I truly dont care if I hit the 10 sec mark or not. However, I dont think that you read what i said above about 2800 LBS car with the driver and 450WHP can hit high 10s matter of math.

and over all how can you compare a car with no cams to a car with cams?? and how can you compare a car with C16 map and a car with 97 map?? and how can you compare a car with a cat and one with out. so many things that you are not seeing here. Please don’t follow ALEX ALEX bumpy road and compare apples with oranges. The dyno charts are on EVOm. 3071 with stock manifold on 110 made 395 WHP and over 360WTQ which is more than 350on Shiv dyno see the dyno yrself. Oh no cams as well

so far I have found 300 LBS. 200 to go and I will loose few pounds

Its a racing car so it has to be light. power is not always the solution.
