of course with one seat and no plastic inside, no carpet, no AC and many carbon fiber parts here and there along with TI exahust I can get down to 2800LBS plus the driver. My goal is 2800 including me I guess I will be the first here to drop the wight down that much but its worth the try.

Even if you got it down to 2800 without driver ...it would be empty inside ...either way why not just get a different turbo setup and some cams and make say 450 -500whp and then run near the 10s ...just seems to make more sense then stripping it down just so you can keep the other turbo setup...just a thought. I have carbon hood and trunk, no rear wing, sound deadener from front seats back is gone, nothing in trunk except braces, titanium strut bars, aluminum tein Ra coilovers, lighter wheels and tires and the car that weighed over 3300 is now 3050 with 1/3 tank of gas...thats pretty light...so to get to 2800 you are talking removal of a/c system ,radio, seats and i would still bet it would weigh over 2900 from my experience of weighing car products
Zeus once did some work on a 3000GT he was telling me about where they went through the entire car and replaced every bolt that was feasible with aluminum bolts, said all in all they shaved like 40lbs off the car, don't quote me though ask him.

I feel that the Atp3071 kit hosed you and others. Its potential is limited and I believe there are better options out there. FWIW Yes I can tell my car has a lil more lag when cruising around at low speeds but the beast that lies beneath when I am not cruising makes it more than worth it IMO. Az3ar not trying to be disrespectful but 10s on your limited turbo is not going to happen. Get a bigger turbo and quit using the lag excuse as justification for your choice of being hosed for an inferior turbo kit. Yes I paid more but I got more. Alot more.

yeah...i don't think with stock ecu regardless i will get to 575 whp no matter what ....especially with stock heads besides cams...and the smaller 3037. We will see
Az3ar, quit dreaming and get the appropriate turbo. You are in a paradox. You want no lag but great top end. So a compromise is unavoidable. Yeah and I want a hot babe w/o the high maintenance and bitacchy attitude. Sometimes sacrifices are unavoidable. Deal with it because that is the way life is for the most part. Like Al explained 575 whp to do 10s. So lets equate Al weighs 300 pnds and you weigh 150 soak and wet.Next you lighten you car 400 pounds below Als. So approximately each pound is 1/10 in the qtr and 10 hp. So you have saved 550 pnd so you can have 55 hp less than Al for 10. 520-530whp should be your magic # at the least.IMO 450 whp will not be enough. Currently I have more than that 420 whp on Shiv's dyno =480+ and I am hoping for mid 11s. If I do better I will be totally happy. Just ask Evo8powa.It is not as easy to run good times as some people think. Just because Al and some others that have alot of experience and can tune their car on the run can do it does not mean everyone can do it. Low 11s let alone 10s are no joke. Guys running those times have some serious power and their cars are tuned extremely well for drag racing. 10s on 450 whp is a fantasy and you should keep your interior and get the right turbo. IMO The 3037 spools just fine for my taste. I do not miss the stock spoolup at all. We will see what I can do in the near future but I expect mid 11s at low 120 s. Plus another thing people don't realize is that Al and others that run 10s have raised their rev limiter so they don't have to make that lackluster shift into our powerless 5th gear. That will keep many out of the 10s iMO. Anybody agree with me or am I way off base. I will respect any feedback contrary to my opinion.

I know it’s very hard but I know that there is a way to do it too. I don’t want 10 sec. Once I hit mid to low 11s like you I am happy. I think now with some new tuning for C16 I will hit high 11s. I really want to keep my turbo as I love the way it spools. I can go and get the 3037 but I am looking at another 300RPM loss. Once I have the stroker kit in my car the turbo should be a monster on low end as it will give me 500 RPM better spool. That will put me @ 3200 RPM full 30PSI
. I will get in touch with you later on to see how you saved weight but so far when half of my engine was out last week I saw so many parts that I can take off starting from the engine lifters ending with the IC water. The only thing that is really killing me is my sunroof which I might have to close at a body shop
