Get rid of the injen intake thats one problem. I bet if you put your stock airbox back in you will see improved performance. I dont think Al has had a chance to tune many Evo's with this new product everyone knows how tricky intakes are with the stock MAF sensor. Bottom line how does it feel?
It does look like he took that dip out of your curve around 5200rpm to 5600rpm, also your A/F ratio looks good stock Evo are usally lower than 10/1 thoughout the whole curve. Try going back to the stock intake everyone in my area has and all have had increases in power and driveability. Once you go with cams or a turbo upgrade or can get customer tuned then smack that intake on and get some huge #'s.

it feels stronger below 3000rpm, turbo spools up faster and topend feels like it pulls harder.........I really like the sound of the Injen so i don't think ill be taking it off and Al flashed my Evo for the Injen

Best of luck Mike
Once you get that turbo back and boost controller you car will be 300whp. I have seen the same mod's with just a K&N drop in make more than 300whp on a Dynapack and Dynojet

Thanks for the input

A few points in response

1 - His tune is for the injen - its a very good unit and a great value considering it includes an intercooler pipe with the intake for a price comprable to that of the HSK RS KIT. However, it is rather unusual for a customer to have JUST a air intake as his first mod. Most of the injens we have seen were on cars with at least an exhaust and a MBC. The tune here is very conservative as we dont have a lot of testing to back us up with just the injen intake.

2 - The dip you see on the stock curve at 5200 - 5600 was the result of evident knock activity and the ecu pulling timimng. Its nice to see our curve so smooth and absent of detonation and yet making more power.

THE PEAK WHP gains are only part of the story - after 5800 the flash is making nearly 20 whp more than the stock tune all the way to the red line

I feel that IF the dyno was conducted in 3rd gear with a more stable collant temprature the a/f on my tune would have been a bit higher and the gains would have been more substantial.

Overall - I think its a decent improvement for this almost stock car to smooth out the power band and pick up more power up top.

Agsin, if the end user is not satisfied - send it back for a full refund. Thanks

Al, I've signed up for a flash and possible a custom tune.. do you think the custom tune would be enought to get some actual gains from my injen intake. if not I'll just slap the stock intake back on till I get a chance to have it tuned on a dyno.... Let me know... I might go ahead and have you do a custom tune on it so I can keep it on there... my cars seems to pull incredibly hard and for the few mods I have I ran a 13.2 in the 1/4 mile and missed 2nd gear.. so it would have easiley been in the 13.1-13.0s.. It runs pretty consistand high 8.3's. that's with horrible launches too.. my best so far is 1.82... I wish I could figure out how to launch...

The Injen intake is comparable to the HKS RS which has shown to result in 8 - 12 whp gains over stock

Al is absolutely correct on the knock activity. When he came down to do a custom flash on my car - we noticed that since I had a stock exahust and HKS RS intake - there was extra backpressure being created hence increased temperatures - causing timing to be retarded. THe best thing to do is get an exahust and MBC (important to hold boost) and then get another reflash. I bet you wont be sad after that. I went through the same thing dude. We actually had to detune my car because I have a stock exhaust.

Get you a BR 3" Turbo back & MBC and I bet you see that 20hp gain. Also u might try putting the stock air box in like someone mentioned already.

I'm running just a BR 3" catback, MBC@1.4 bar and K&N drop in and the car is totally different from it's stock form. I wish there was a dyno around here but Buschur is the closest at 350miles.

Injen intake + MR BOV + TurboXS CAT back + stock dp + boost pill removed catback resulted in 258, 255 in my car on the dyno. THIS was before we installed a piggyback, and boosted it to 302/280.
I think there is some problem with ur setup.
