Al just got dynoed after $199 flash
Whats up Al i sent my ecu in about two weeks ago. You flashed my ecu for my Injen intake. My stock dyno was 220whp with 252 torque now with my intake and the flash i got 229whp with 250 torque. i got 9hp and lost 2torque what is going on? Your website says guaranteed 20 WHP gain. What do we have to do to fix this?
thank you
mike
my Dyno sheet is now at the bottom of this page

i called today and left a message..........my stock run was on 93 and my run today with the flash and the Injen was with 94. i wish i had a scanner so i could post my new dyno sheet!?!?!?!
An over the mail flash is not going to be that productive. You need to find a way to datalog ur afr and timing. It's just the matter of fine tuning ur afr/timing to ur setup. It might be running too rich and too conservative on timing. I suggest u get the utec with the tuner and tune the car urself. Utec is very simple to tune with.
P.S Al is out tuning in CA...

Make sure you're not having any issues with boost leaks. I was dissapointed after dynoing my car that I had Al flash. it turned out I had a lot of little leaks that added up to make the motor run rich, slow to spool and low on horsepower. Paying for *any* tuning without making sure your car is tip top beforehand is a waste of money.

Your flash is working. There is no way a stock un-tuned EVO ecu would be holding 11.5 A/F ratio at 7000 rpm's. Stock reading would be less that 10.0 A/F at that rpm.
As for your dyno #'s.....Make sure they plugged in the right corrections.

My car sat about half-hour before my runs so i don't think it was hot. I talked to AL last night he said the guy that is runing the dyno doesn't know what he is doing. He said the fans where not big enough. He asked me how Koz dynoed it. I couldn't really answer that because i wasn't in the car, so i asked Al if he would talk to my dyno guy Koz so Al could tell him how to dyno the Evos right. Al did say he would reflash me for free when i get my turbo back and HBC installed.
My goal is 300whp that is it and from what i have been reading the intake, turbo back,MBC and flash will get me there.
through the mail flashes can get scetchy, you shoudl always get a custom tune and get full advantage of your parts, a through the mail flash is liek getting a ******* and her finishing a few minutes before you cumm......

I returned your telephone message as soon as i had a chance
Its nice to see that our customer's first line of inquiry with a customer service request is to make a post on the internet and then to call us - I think it should be the other way around
As we discused, I do not recomend to dyno stock evos in 4th gear on dyno jet as the pulls are very long and on most dynos the air flow is not sufficent to provide enough cooling to replicate the air flow on the street. On a dyno jet the pull in 4th gear - especially with stock power level - take a real long time and the collant gets boiling hot. Its very rare for a dyno shop to invest the $5 - 10,000 for a fan that can provide wnough air flow to duplicate a real world 100 mph air flow.
For these reasons, I use 3rd gear for dyno testing and I carefully monitor the collant temps through OBDII to make sure they are consisitant - this is critical as the ecu has a sigificant and fast acting coolant temprature enrichment function
As we discussed, your particular modification combintaion (just a injen intake without exhaust, mbc and fuel pump) is not very common and our base flash is accordingly very conservative
While I would like to see a 20 whp gain with my flash - at least , 9 whp is a improvement but not as much as we like to see. It is possible that the dyno conditions may have had something to do with this or maybe the settings in your particular tune are not agressive enough.
As an aiside, most Dyno Flashed stock evos make between 255 - 260 whp on our Dyno jet dyno
It is very rare for even a stock evo to make less than 230 whp - most make about 240 whp
220 is on the low side
210 is the lowest we ever saw
267 is the highest
As we discussed, I would like to see the before and after dyno sheets - they would tell me a lot about how yout tune is working - feel free to mail them to me
The main criteria I would suggest that you judge the success of your reflash is by the driving experience
If your not 100% satisfied just send it back for a full refund
