Al,

If the opportunity presents itself, I would like to do a couple of things:

1) Walbro 255lph fuel pump
2) HKS cam shafts and gears

Most likely, I would want to get the fuel pump done and over with. The cam shafts/gears can come later on down the road. With all the minor bolt-on parts on already (intake, intercooler, dowpipe & exhaust) I believe we have a good solid foundation to start on.

What's your thought on installing a 10.5 hotside on a stock 03/04 turbo? Do you think it's worth it? Wouldn't that get you to a similar position as the stock 05 turbo? This 05 turbo doesn't have Ti internals, does it?

Have you flashed any cars with a 10.5 hotside upgrade or the Evo6.5 RS TME turbo?

The '05's have the same CHRA as the '03-'04 cars. Nothing different there. The difference is in the turbine housing (obviously) and the compressor housing.

If you were to upgrade the TH on a prevous model car your gains would be nearly identical to those of the '05 cars.

They have the walbro pumps in stock - just try and get your tank 1/2 empty or lower when you get there

As for the cams - I would suggest the 264's and they can install those for you in the am if you like and I will tune it in the PM - just let me know so I know when to be there !

Its going to be great to see the massive whp and trq numbres from your MR aftera few mods go on - the new turbo is a real winner !

We played with the 10.5 hotside a few times and saw very slight and modest gains - nothing like this

the TME turbo - I only tuned once and it was holding like 30 psi of boost - insane

This new '05 turbo seems to be the best street turbo for the evo - with huge upgrade potential

I predict 350 ft lbs / 350 whp will be the norm with cams, intake, fmic and exhuast on pump gas

AND the compressor housing as well. (and possibly something with the wastgate and 02 housing) I have to take one apart now

Could it be that it is not just the 05 turbo that is producing all of the gains over the 03/04's? I thought that the cams were changed in the 05's to make more power and have a better torque curve. Perhaps changing cams in an 05 wont make as big of a difference as the 03/04?

Watching the boost gauge and seeing the data logs - I think the Turbo is a huge factor

Of course all my thoughts are sheer speculation at this point

In due course we will have all the information and discover exactly where the power is comming from

I am very excited and happy to have this new flash softwear so that I can get my hands on the Mr and '05 right away - its going to be a lot of fun

I mentioned the compressor housing

The wastegate and O2 housing are no different than previous models. I just looked at the part numbers.

I am thinking that the compressor housing is the bigger part of the picture - we have seen many of the cars with the co called 10.5 hot side and did not see much gains

Interesting that the wastegate is the same and o2 housing

I think I will have to order up some '05 turbo parts tomorrow and do some experimentation !
