Al - what kind of power can i pick up by getting a $100 "Re"-flash with the new higher boost. My car was dynoflashed about 1 year ago.

Assuming all your other mods are the same you may ship it in for the update and just pay a $50 shipping and handling fee to update the flash to the V3 boost controlling flash

Should be good for about 5 - 8 whp over the normal dyno flash

What's the peak boost, and where does it drop at higher rpm (7000)?

Just curious, would there be a difference in WHP getting the V3 mail-in flash tuned for 93 octane vs. 94? If so how much and would it be anything worth while? Would it hurt the car if you had to put 93 octane in with a 94 flash?

19 psi on the dyno falling to 18 or so at 7000

On the road it hits and holds 20 psi in 5th

The V3 is included with every through the mail tune where the customer does not specify that they have a boost controller

Mail in flash is $199 plus shipping
so.. does this mean the mbc is not needed? and will you"re boost control on the flash hold 20psi all the way to red?

I still prefer a good MBC to have complete adjustability and control. Although the V3 boost controlling flash is a big improvement over stock it still retains the factory boost lines, hoses and restrictor pills. The V3 boost controlling flash is best suited to those users who want a super simple, stealth and hassel free situation. MBC is the ultimate performance option but you need a guage and occassional adjustment.

Still wondering if i should get a 93 octane or 94 flash? Sunoco stations arent everywhere so im not sure if i will be able to make it to one on every fill up but 93 octane is. Is this a problem?

Does this entail that a boost controlling flash has a 100 octane map, as in dump the "good" stuff in and it's more whp or must 100 octane be stated before mail in? Just curious.

Boost is the same on all cars - even 91 ocatne - there is only so much we can get even at 0% duty cycle on the solinoid (full boost) with the stock hoses intact. (Usually about 19 - 20 psi). The main gain is that the boost holds much more steady and longer.

With a pill modification that takes aboyut a half hour you can get 24 psi with ease.

The main difference between 93 and 94 is in the ignition timing

If you want the high power 100 octane set up you have to secify it in the flash.

lol, I hope so too...or if the guy didn't realize it was illegal, I hope he plays fair now Stock class should be about the driver not whatever you can sneek by tech inspection.

Good luck today Trina! I might make it up later in the day...worked 15.5hrs today so I am pretty beat. I also still don't have my car back yet. My throwout bearing split in half. Dealer said they have never seen anything like it. The stock clutch is such a piece of sh*t. I'm going with an Exede Twin Disc based on Buschur's, Al's and many others recommendations and experiences. Shamus is going for sure but will only be running 25psi.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Al...and thanks again for sending out the MBC overnight!

i've been wondering wether or not a reflash will void my warrenty. i mean not technically(becasue im sure it does) but is it something they would ever notice when it comes in for repairs etc?

because i have a GReddyEBC from my last car and im dieing to add some hp to my new MR, but at the same time everyone i know who owns a mitsu has had to get it worked on for random things like drivetrain etc. putting my EBC in would certianly void the warrenty, so if a reflash isnt noticeable it would be the better way to go, until a few years from now when the car hasnt broke down and im ready to heavily mod it.

thanks for the input
