Al, I just go dynoed and need your help

Al, I've had a mail in flash and then stepped up to a custome street tune a while back. I finally got my car dynoed today since I wasn't hitting the quarter mile times that I should be at the drag strip. I'm running a little on the rich side. Please take a look at my dyno sheet and see if you could help. Can I send you my ecu to tweak or do I need to have it retune again? I haven't installed anything on the car since the custome street tune at BR. Here are my mods.

HKS RS intake
HKS 264/272 cams
255 fuel pump
660 injectors
BR 3" turbo back with highflow cat
BR upper intercooler pipe
MBC@ 21 psi

Is my hp numbers and tq a little on the low side or are they where they should be on a Mustang dyno. Thanks

Based upon what i am seeing on Mustang dynos your power is on the low side at least 30 whp low.

The curve looks ultra smooth and knock free and the A/f is flat as a lake although a tad rich - IMPORTANT TO NOTE that the stock ecu has a very sensitive coolant temprature enrichment compensation which will make the a/f table slightly richer when the coolant temp is hot which is easy to do on a dyno without adequte air flow and cooling between runs

The boost is holding good but a little on the low side - too conservative.

I would suggest turning boost up to 21.5 psi falling to 20 flat if it will hold that mcuh at red line - that should net you half your missing power

Also - you can send in the ecu and I will make it one half point leaner across the board - that should get you the other half - I'll cover the fed ex charges and the retune is free

Not sure where you live but if you can make it back to BR next month I will retune you for free when I am there on the 13th and 14th on the Buschur Mustang Dyno

I'm the guy that drove 15 hrs there to BR to get my car tune during the DSM Shootout weeken. I'm from Minnesota. If you can get me in on your Chicago trip. I'm willing to make another road trip to meet up with you again.

No charge - you get free re-tunes for life of car as a custom tuned customer

I would prefer to meet you in person to check over the car if possible - again no charge for that either

BTW what kind of MBC do you have and which BOV do you have ? The boost curve is oscilating up and down slightly like a wave and you can see the tq curve follow slightly

Hey Al, let me know asap if you could get me in on your chicago trip. Are you coming there on the 24th of this month? It's still a 5 hr drive for me but I'm will to drive there. Thanks

Since 2005's dyno about 235whp/255tq, you may have been better off staying stock. Sorry to hear about your tune. Good Luck!

Your negativity is like a putrid smell which follows me even to my own forums

Just for reference, I am sure you are aware on stock setting Mustang dynos stock evos make about 195 whp

I would expect at least 275 - 290 whp on a Mustang dyno which retains factory correction factors and drum weights (320 - 330 Dyno Jet) for a car with the mods of this customer.

Of course its impossible to know exactly how a particular Mustang dyno is set up so its hard to draw comnclusions from dyno to dyno as the readings can be greatly effected by the calibration

This is one of the reasons why Dyno Jets are more appreciated for consistant power readings - even if they do not load the car as accuaretly as a mustang dyno

the 10.8 / 1 a/f is a bit on the low side of the 11.1 - 11.2 target which I aim for, however there are many factors which can effect the a/f level such as coolant temps. And, the slight richness would not account for the level of power which is missing.

Thanks for your input as always

A little extra boost will go a long way

Also - did you slightly "crush" the 1G BOV yet?

The way the boost curve is wavy like that I would suspect the BOV may be slightly leaking boost

Al, got a question for you. I have your mail in flash allready which was done at dsm shootout. Anyways what i'm getting to is my best time i'm able to pull off is a 13.2 at 102mph with a 1.7 60ft.

Mods:
3" TBE
Intake
Mail in Dynoflash
Hallman MBC 21psi
Magnecor 8.5 wires
Grounding Kit
Stock BOV

Shouldn't I be around 12.9? What do you think my weak link could be? Thanks.
Trap speeds are low too.

You should have come by the Buschur event this entire week - I just left !

1/4 mile times are hard to gauge for how a car is tuned with such minimal mods as driver skill and track conditions will play a huge role

I have seen people go 12.2 with similar mods as yours who had super high boost and drove the crap out of the car

I have also seen people with over 500 whp going 12's

With the mail in flash, I don't guarantee a particular track time what I do guarantee that it is going to make you at least 20 whp over the stock tune and get your car to run smoother and better than with the stock tune

If you can make it down to BR next month when I am there I will be happy to take your car for a test drive and look over the tuning. If you like you can get some dyno time at Buschur and I can make any gross adjustments which may be indicated.

I've been thinking and it's a 5 hr drive to come there. Is this something you can just help correct through the mail if I overnight my ecu to you? Kind of expensive on gas to come there. The BOV is not crushed. Are you coming back to Minnesota any time soon. I missed you when you where here at RS. Took the family on a road trip. I'll let you know closer to the week if the wifey feels like taking a road trip with me to Chicago. Thanks for you generous offer though.
