I actually hav a set of those in hand - pending an opportunity to test them !

keep us updated on how this thing does with the gt40. i just got done doing a 2.4L on a talon and it is just sick. on a very very conservative tune with -1 degree timing we are at 380 wtq and this is at a little over 4000rpm. going to tune with more timing and see how this thing does on full pulls up to about 7500rpm.

Set records? Are these predictions?

Good to hear! The third most aggressive DSM cam made 30 more whp and 19 more lb/ft of torque than HKS 272s. It will be interesting to see what you come up with!

Today I had a very exciting Evo day

it started with checking out some Evo IX's at Buschur's shop - man those Evo Ix's look great and they have a totally redesigned ecu set up - should be great with that giant turbo in there

I watched as Buschur installed a new APEXI ecu in the shop car and then headed to the track to test it out - the results were amazing

Later, I haded to Shep Racing's shop to pick up my newly freshend up Shep racing evo transmission - that sucker looks betterthan new! That Shep is one hard working and meticulous guy, he was working on his 7 second drag car and it was a real treat to see how carefully he works

Hopefully tommorrow I can get my Evo back together and working !

Which APEXI ecu? Is it a standalone?

Yes its the Apexi evo stand alone power comander - its a very nice unit and it seems to work really nicely

The best part about it as far as I could see is the very reasonable price and the fact that you dont need a lap top to tune it (it comes with a hand held controller)

I had a horrible time trying to get that thing to work for me. I ended up finding out that if you don't have the special software that Apexi is very stingy with, you'll never get a good tune. At the time there were only two places in the US that were authorized.

It wouldn't surprise me that Buschur got it to work though.

Some of you may not know who Dan Buschur is, he is the Brother of David Buschur and he runs Buschur Automotive which performs all the mechanical installation work at Buschur racing in Wakeman, OH.

Last week I found that my new pistons were incompatable with my ultra agressive cams so Buschur Racing offered to re-machine the pistons with larger valve reliefs and re-install the engine if i could get the car there this week so that it would be ready in time for this week's NOPI race in Norwalk, Ohio.

With a new motor ready to bolt in and my car in basket case condition with all the fastners and parts in a big washing tub it looked to me like it would be a long could pf days of work to install the new motor.

Amazingly, Dan Buschur and his helper Steve had my car put all back together and RUNNING in 3 hours

The work was first rate with all fastners hand torqued and lock tight used where specified.

It would have taken me 3 days of solid work to get that car running - I was shocked that Dan could do it in 3 - and even more shocked when he was able to qucikly diagnose a problem I had with my head which has been bothering me for some time and correct it all in quick order.

They figured out all the custom things on my car withoyut any problem and they did perfect work and attention to detail. I am 1,000% pleased

Dan Buschur - a certified master tech and great guy - I recomend him for all your evo mechanical needs

Some of my fellow EVO owners may not know that DSM lore has been a part of the import scene since the first days of import racing

I have had a Disney World like adventure this week which started with a visit from Brent Rau a guy who drives a outlaw 4G63 powered rear wheel drag`car. Having Dinner with Brent and David Buschur was a great opportunity to learn a lot of really good tuning and racing ideas.

The very next day i visited Shep Racing and was amazed at how organized, professional and well equiped the shop of John Shepherd is. http://www.shepracing.com/sr_services.html

This man is driven by doing things perfectly and it shows in the way he works and the quality of his product.

I am very impressed with the total transformation he made to the shifting and feel of my transmission. It shifts much better than stock and the drivetrain noise i previously had is almost eliminated.

Every evo with weak grinding syncrhos should consider a freshining up my Mr. Shep.

Today, Mr. Buschur helped me to tune the aem on the dyno and see how the new engine works.

The good news is that the GT40R spools exactly as fast as my GT35R did with the new stroker kit.

The bad news that I ran into a boost leak issue and had to take the car off the dyno

Further results will be realized tomorrow at the NOPI race

Hope to see some of you there

Thats awesome to hear Al. A t67 and gt40r are supposed to spool similarly so it is nice to know my spool will be back in a more liveable position with the 2.4. Being friends with Dave and crew isn't cool enough, but you have to throw in some other DSM great into the picture. Sounds like good times

I have a question about T04Z.Is that TO4Z equal to GT40R or smaller?

The compressor wheels are close, and the to4z'z may actually flow a little more. The t67 does and I think it is the same wheel. I am unsure of the turbine wheel though. The gt40s turbine wheel is awesome! bigg, better aerodynamics and even lighter than the ptrim. HKS also runs cutom turbine housings that may be smaller to aid in spool up but hurt potential flow.
