Damn it, Saturday can't come here any sooner!

You guys are great, though. Most of our Evo newbs are mindless drones who just buy whatever has HKS and Greddy written on it. Here's a
for both of you!

BTW, cij911 ... if you're reading this thread ... get your a$$ over to dcevoclub.com, sign up, and send in your deposit for the 16th! I know you don't want me pulling on you in the straights

You'll have to exit quicker out of the turns to pull on me

Never mad :)

As for cij911, I hope he doesn't get mad about the gearing thread!
Josh, I went 12.22 on my stock cat by using a 50/50 mix of 104/93oct at the track. I would toss in about 3gals of 104 with less than a 1/4 tank of 93, crank the boost to 23-24psi, lean out the SAFC, then pick up at least 30whp, since my traps went up 3-4mph easily. You could definitely take advantage of the dual stage on 100-104oct, because the knock resistance allows us to run 24psi easily.

Josh / Martin,
I will signup for the tuning event later today, but can only do the 16th.....
Martin / Warrtalon,
Anymore custom slots available?? Do you have any minor mods available? Maybe I should just do the basic ECU flash and wait for the more advanced items (exhaust cams, exhaust, intake) to come to market. Thoughts???

cij, all the custom IX slots are full on the 16th. If you want a custom road tune ,you'll have to do the 17th. Since you need the 16th, then I suggest signing up for a 30-min base flash slot.
Please go sign up and register at the DcEvoClub, because that is where I have all the information.
Oops, you already did. I will add your name to the roster. and respond to you there.

MIVEC results?
Al - hope you don't mind me continuing this thread as my question pertains to your IX flash ... and my upcoming tune on the 16th.
Regarding tuning the MIVEC cam advance ... can you speak to the results you've seen in midrange power by adjusting the MIVEC tables? I know it zeros out at some point higher in the RPM range (like 6K or something?), but I'm really interested in maximum usable midrange power that will be felt in daily driving (and road racing too) versus maximum top end for drag racing. Of course I want top end too, but that's the beauty of MIVEC, right? I should be able to have both
.
Also, have you done any comparisons in spool time by adjusting the cam advance?
Very curious to hear of your results to date with respect to MIVEC tuning ...
Thanks,
Josh

People set the boost wherever they want it, then Al tunes it there. I don't think anyone runs less than 21psi with tuning, but that's not relevant to the fuel pump. The stock fuel pump on VIIIs can easily handle more than 21psi. It's just a failsafe item in case the pump fails, or if the owner ever tries to push 24-25psi (like I do on race gas). IXs have coolant passages in the head that make it more knock resistant, which also allows running more boost on pump gas.
