Both.

I started with a base mail-in flash mainly just to raise my rev limiter, since I was using the S-AFC to tune, but wasn't able to make it through the 1/4-mile without hitting the rev limiter in 4th. Al's base flash cured this so that I could go faster in the 1/4-mile, but it also had a huge gain in torque in the low-end/mid-range, because this is where the S-AFC lacks. I then went and hit the track with my base flash, and that is when I hit the 12.26@110 in my sig. Straight 93oct and no SAFC tuning. I then tossed in 2 gallons of 110oct, cranked up the boost, leaned out the SAFC, and went 12.000 (just not good enough to hit 11s, haha).

Then, a few weeks later, Al came back down to the DC area for a tuning session and gave me a sponsored, full, custom street tune, and it's one for the ages. It is optimized for for my setup and my driving, and it is freakin awesome.

Thanks Warrtalon for the welcome. I am trying to get as much info on the evo as possible. I LOVE this car. I use to dream of owning one since I first saw it back in 97. You have been a huge help with schooling me on the other forum. Thanks again

Al - What is the best way to go in terms of flashing the IX Ecu and getting the most power. Would it be your dynoflash or an EcuTek flash?

All flashes really do the same exact thing - they edit and rewrite the hexidecimal code in the ecu so the operating result is more a factor of the tuner and how the car is tuned than the front end editor used

The ecutek has various differences in the way it works - license fee structure - however the end result with the tuning works out just about the same

BTW - you should know I will be in Florida in two weeks and i can either install your base flash then or I can custom tune your car at that time

The main point on the Evo IX thing is that i have invested what is to me a huge sum of money that I may never even recover to offer the same Dyno Flash technology for the Evo IX market as with the Evo 8. While I really appreciate the armed forces and have done everything I can to show my appreciation in the past two years, the current market makes it diffficult for to offer those kind of promotions at this time.

I can not even begin to think about giving away this product until it is at least paid for which may take a long time with the way these cars are selling.

At $249 shipped till the end of the year - that is a great deal on the Evo IX flash that everyone can take advantage of at this time. The price will be going higher after the new year.

Thanks again and best holiday greetings to everyone in the armed forces.
