dave buschur told me the same thing you just said the day i picked the car up this is danny f big al i told you i was going to to bye a 1X but i didnt know it was gonna be a killer BR350
why switch the bov out on the IX with a forge unit. Doesn't the IX come with the mr bov?? Just a side note I had the forge unit in my car and it fluttered just like you had mentioned, changed it out with an mr bov which seems to hold up to at least 29lbs which is what it is set at on race gas.

i didnt even have to crush the 1g. i just put it on and it idled smoothe as glass and held 20 21 lbs of boost to 7800 like they are tuned for, like i said before theres no bov noise but i ,ll take the drivabilety over the sound anyday

Guys, it "flutters" because it's so strong. The reason why the 1G doesn't flutter is because it's not as strong and doesn't hold boost as well. With the Forge RS set to minimum, it holds as well as any BOV and does not "flutter." I see people complaining ab out flutter so often, and I'm not sure why. Are you referring to compressor surge and calling it "flutter"? I get compressor surge with the Forge RS stiffened, but I hear no fluttering (stock intake). If I don't like the part-throttle, high gear surging, then I loosen the spring with the adjustment knob. It's unfortunate how commonly people just ditch a good BOV without using the adjustment features or understanding what's happening.
the 1G is still good, but it's not as good and will leak boost uncrushed whether you realize it or not. Hell, my uncrushed 1Gs on all my DSMs opened up with just 16psi of pressure when tested off the car. After crushing, they started opening at 20psi. The JDM MR DV is even stronger than that followed by the Forge RS which is again stronger.

Actually forge has fixed the problem already
They have released the higher priced RS Unit which is fully adjustable in infinite increments
The problem with the original Forge DV was that it had only 3 shims and 3 springs to adjust it and even on the softest setting it was too stiff for many
I used it for a long time on mky Evo race car its a greta high performance BOV but the driveability was bothersome to some users
here is the original forge valve as used in the Buschur Kit
Notice it is flanged to ft in place of the 1 g bov
I have driven in Buschur stage 2 - stage 4 evos with that kind of valve for hours a loved the "feel"
For some - they can not stand the "feel" of that unit the way it can flutter
This is why forge being the amazing company they are designed the new RS unit
This unit can be adjusted down so its looser than a stock BOV and soft like a cadilic or as stiff as having no bov
I love it becuase you can set it real hard when you want to race and go easy about town.
In any event this unit is not cheap - it retails at $230 and its very large in size
I am sure that in designing the BR kit the more proportioned and handsome looking 1 g flanged smaller Forge unit appealed to the eye of Mr. Buschur who prefers a neat and clean look. The RS unit would look too large and out of place perhaps on a BR kit.
The main thing is not to slander the Forge product as its great stuff and works amazingly - its just that first generation valve is a bit to stiff for many folks.

The best part of the new RS valve is that it is one size fits all users - it can be set so soft it leaks worse than stock with no sounds at all and a totaly smooth modulation of partial thorttle - or - you can crank it down and compressor surge your turbo like a bango tight as can be with no leaking what so ever
The only problem is that it is huge - almost like a soda can - but it does work amazing !
