Do I need a retune?

I know Al gets super busy and I have no problem being patient but while I wait I thought I would ask you guys.

I had a custom road tune from Al a few months ago with the following mods:

Blitz SUS Intake, Helix O2 Housing, Helix Downpipe, UR High Flow Cat, Blitz NUR-Spec Exhaust, HKS 272/272 Cams, ARP Headbolts, Walbro 255, SMC Meth Inj (100% Meth), Blitz SBC-ID Boost Controller

I just installed these:

AMS LICP, AMS UICP, TurboXS FMIC, Greddy RS BOV

Do I need to send in the ECU for any adjustments?

I did move the Alky nozzle up closer to the thorttle body too. Let me know what you guys think?!

Thanks,

DrBump

I would say YES. Just a guess, but there is a LOT more VOLUME being sucked in the engine, and it should be re-flashed. maybe just because of the IC. Your car is coming along, and will be quite fast!! You stay on your side of town, I will "rule" the northeast (Fishers)

HAHAHHA!! Ok we will stay on our respected sides of Indy.

As for the tune, I am thinking the same thing. I am going to pull the plugs this weekend. They are about 2k miles old and see what they look like. I also have a Wideband (AEM UEGO) on the way (should be here on Wednesday if UPS is right). This way I can see what it is doing live.

The car is coming along . . . . . . . gotta make sure I'm ready for the WWII (Winged Warrior II) Event.

Curious if I am going to need a custom tune or if Al can do it via a mail in.

You dont have to re-tune for those mods - just be sure to keep boost at same level

Al, thanks!! Once I get the AEM UEGO in I will see how the AFR's are and let you know.

Smoked, its ok, we were both wrong.

I am going to put some new plugs in when the AEM UEGO gets here and see how things go from there.

Smoked, I saw you rolling around Fishers. How is the car doing?

Still a 10 second car, why? Still matches my profession: Lots of popping here and there!!! I will check stuff later.

don't mean to hijack your thread, but it seemed like your question was answered - diddnt want to start new one w/ same question.

Al, i had the custom road tune w/ just intake, MBC, and forge BOV. im grabbin a 3" downpipe and the horespower freaks 3.5" downpipe-back exhaust. Do I need to send the brain in for an update?

-thanks
Andrew

Andrew,

Your question should be answered with a yes, you will need a retune. The larger exhaust pipes will release back pressure and should allow Al to advance some timing along with increasing some boost and other good things Al knows how to do with the ECU.

My question was in regards to Intercooler Piping, which doesn't require a retune. I am still going to see what the AFR's are once my AEM UEGO gets in.

Good luck with your car Andrew!!
