Thumbs up Flash results

Big ups to AL. He flashed my IX with helix tbe..forge...hkr rs....perrin uicp. My problem was that i literally drove to SC just with my ECU and had to hear how crazy i was for not driving my car with my clutch nearly gone... well we talked and he flashed my ecu. i get home and have to wait a month while my ACT clutch and flywheel are on back order...then it takes me another week to get around to putting it in....Meanwhile i havent been able to drive my car with ANY of my mods except intake. after i got the clutch put in i properly broke it in before geting on it. Now after my break in i got on it pretty hard last night and HOLY ****... my car is a freaking beast. holds 22 psi all the way to redline. The two step is sick as hell...my buddy has a 330 whp sti and he couldn't hang with me even with 2 car lengths... it is so amazing how a couple mods can change your car. I never really believed that it would make that much difference but in all honesty my car stock was slow as hell compared to now.... anybody considering a flash should def talk to Al.. He is a great tuner and just wants to make cars better.... Thanx Al

yes the clutches are garbage as well.... i did however find out when i took out the clutch that 2 of the springs were broken or had popped out and broke.... i had only raced the car twice and never drove it hard.

Most % of premature clutch failure on Evo's are the users driving habits.

If the springs popped out, that is usually considered defective and therefore covered under warranty. Oops.

Glad you get to rock out with your flashed IX now!

Yeah no ****.... i had my dealer convinced to change the clutch...then i was thinking well now im making around 350whp i WILL need a better clutch so i went ahead and upgraded anyways since i will need to in the future and the car is a freaking beast.... Now im just torn on what to do..... i think im gonna go with AMS front mount....AMS licp....walbro.....exhaust manifold..maybe some 720's and a safc to fine tune everything and a custom tune?? What you guys think??? My goal is max power on stock turbo.

you will be ok with the stock intercooler til you upgrade your turbo. You might want to consider an Alky kit, lower IC pipe, 10.5 hotside and a exhaust cam. you will be over 400-425 whp if you do that. If you dont know about tuning I wouldnt mess with a safc. A custom tune will do the trick.

i do know about tuning... i want the new afc neo but there isn't a plug-play harness for the IX yet tho is there?? I know i dont NEED a front mount upgrade yet... but it would give another 10-20 hp or so....im just trying to get as much as possible without going all out yet......i do eventually want a Greddy T-67 turbo kit.. i would go with alky injection but i dont know that much about it.
