I agree

crminals and sneaks are everywhere and when you are excited to get a new evo you may not be thinking to crawl under it to check for drive shafts

My main point of the thread

isw those considering to BUY a USED EVO - have it checked out

This cars are all subject to significant modifications and its imporant to make sure that any USED evo is safe and has all its parts

thanx Ray

btw i did check out the car (and test drove it) as much as i had time for. I traded a 04 tiburon. Left on a friday night(DEC 05), drove all night 8+ hrs, test drove and worked a deal for another 5+ and then without batting an eye drove all the way back to NewMexico from Alington TX. (The dealership is Stadium Auto FYI).... Soon after that I was shipped out for like three months. Being that I serve, I wasnt afforded the time I needed to do it right. Im not tryin to make that an excuse, thats just the truth. So stop being a dick

back in the day they had a jdm galant vr4 that had a switchable trans case and tranny.
all you had to do was get under the car and pull a pin out for fwd and put the pin back in or awd.

Hey I appreciate what he has done for the country and that he has risked his own life to make sure we live freely but it still doesnt preclude the fact that he didnt do his homework thoroughly. In any case, bottom line is that with any car purchase, new or used, it's essential to keep your head straight and excitement/emotions in check as to not make a wrong decission. I learned this fact with my first and second car so I'm passing along the lesson.

I wish him luck though with getting the car returned and his money refunded. You can work the 'disclosure' angle or maybe play the sympathy card (hard working service man just wanted a new car but got duped instead) with a judge. Good luck and thanks for keep us safe!

here are the pics of the drive train...

I just briefly spoke to the manager @ Stadium Auto.. and he said that I need to take my car to and have them verify whats wrong (that the drive train is missing a piece etc!!) Even though I have these pix here..... WTF. Why should I waste the gas driving all the was to EL Paso to have them verify what I already kno about, w/pix. Its gonna b up to the lawer, once I sit down wit him, ITS ON... Whatever he says goes. I'll let him do his job. Im not about to get in a shoutin match wit dis dude...... If theres one thing I've learned in the military, it is this "IT PAYS TO BE SLOW TO ANGER"

just keep us updated. I gotta know how this ends......If they said to take it to Mitsu, what do you have to loose?? Take it there. That might be the quicker fix. Just a thought. Also you need to check out the transfer case when the d-line is installed. Ray

Just replace the rear drive shaft, pull the front half shafts, and you can be just like Ryhs Millen
