It was a really long hard day

First off you have to get there super early in the am to stake out a half way decent spot and get through tech inspection

In the NHRA classes the first round did not start till after 5 and my class the Q16 did not que up till after 7:00 p.m.

Sadly the evening was filled with massive amounts of breaqk downs and oil downs so there were many delays and eventually they CANCELED the 2nd round of qualifying for the Q16 class

I will have to wait till tomorrow till I see if I can take another 9 second pass (finally)

round 2 -

two year old half shaft breaks in half

I prob tried to hit it a bit too hard on the line also I am going all the way on KILL now that the car is dialed in

I'll try and get back to the track soon

BTW - I was the only evo "tuner" to make the race

I am glad I made it to the show and qualified for my class

Thanks to my sponsors

The main thing is that the process of getting the car down the track even one pass was enough to dial in the tune enough to get the car making good power

I dont trust dynos for cars of this kind of power and tuning on the street is not worth the risk as it has almost no traction on the street surfaces

I was confident enough to take a brand new set up to a national event knowing that I could get it in the field with one or two passes

I have some more work to do now and will be back at a track as soon as I can

This set up with the destroked motor and Gt42 (special trim) is about the best combo I can imagine

Here I was thinking that I would have a hard time to get it spooled up at all and in fact its spooling so hard off the line I snapped a 1,000 hp rated level 5 half shaft in two

Its a real blast to drive also

That power is scary to imagine… Snapping a shaft rated for that level of power spooling off the line is almost funny… Your car must be like driving a cruise missile... If you ran 900whp on a dyno you must be well over 1000 crank hp… Good lord, like a funny car…

man! and I was so excited to see that thing fly! I wish I would have been there sat. to see you at least take one run... oh well, seeing that car in person is just a marvel.

That track was cursed after that anyway haha Both you and the other driver had some problems. Then the crowd was plagued with leaking cars. Great day, but didn't get to see what I came for. I'll have to catch you some other time.

Keep up the good work Al!

No - the five are plenty good enough

I have been pounding them for two years - many passes down the track

Just need a new inner spline set and they will be good as new
