Evo IX's Mailed in flash on 91 octane???

HI,

I've been reading results for Dyno flashed Evo IX mail ins, w/ tbe, mbc, and intakes and it seems people are running 1/4 times from 11.91-low 12's. But it seems like they are on 93 octane.

So since we have only 90/(91 with Torco fuel additive) octane in Alaska. I'm wondering if 91 octane dynoflashed IX's are also running these nice low 12et times??? Or is there a notable difference between 91-93 octane?

Thanks,
Justin

how much of a power difference is there between 91 octane and 93 octane with the same mods and tune.

The IX actaully does a better job dealing with 91 octane than the 8 did

I would say that on average you loose about 20 whp on a IX with a 91 octane tune vs. a 93 octane tune

IT WILL BE Oh yes.. IT will be LOL, we'll make it go fast homie, us alaskan evo's must stick together and prevent our cars from being jacked and stripped!~ While doing that, we must go faster!

The difference can be as low as 10whp. Some cars lose 15 MAYBE 20whp

daking917,

Just to give you a piece of mind, I do have a Evo 9 which was tuned by Al using his mail -in flash, it also has the same mods as you described and off course it runs all day long on 91oct.

I run everyday at around 21-22psi here on AZ at 3100 feet elevation and 100 degrees. The car does fine, no knock.

If you need more information I will be willing to answer any further questions. Botton line, the Evo 9 and mail in flash on 91oct is still a strong setup.

Carlos

Unforuately, on a day to day basis we only have **** 90 available. Is there a 90 octane flash or do you just use the 91 flash?

20 whp? That is a big difference for only a 2 octane difference. I would expect about 20-30 whp b/w 91 and 100
