Al/Warrtalon: Do I need a wideband to get flashed

Title is pretty much self explanatory. I was going to install the Innovate wideband that I bought, but I had the bung welded in the wrong spot and it wouldn't fit. That being said, I'm assuming that Al can flash a car with a few mods with the factory narrowband sensors in place. LEt me know your thoughts.

i'm not al or warr, but i've had a custom tune done by al and the answer is NO. you don't need an extra bung welded in. i had one done just in case also because i wasn't sure either. al uses the innovative LM-1 wideband w/clamp that clamps onto the back of your exhaust pipe.

No way, he uses his own wideband on the tailpipe. IMagine if all 3000 thousand cars he's tuned HAD to have a bung for his wideband. That would be a disaster!!

By no means does he use the narrowband o2 voltages.

nah, just figured u were a lil busy answering others, i saw it and helped out, thats all. btw al, i've been sending u alot of business lately. can i get a cut or what! j/k just had a guy come to me saying he was going to pay $750 for vishnu services for his 9 (flash) and i told him he was on crack and to mail his ecu to you.

one more thing al, when u custom tuned my car, i don't think you ever flashed my high octane map for racing fuel. can u help a brotha out for the dual switchable maps function? maybe then i can hit my frickin 11sec pass. i use 110 octane @ 28lbs of boost. thanks.....

I don't think I understand the question. What you should have is a completely separate map for race gas that you flash in yourself with EcuFlash.

If you're talking about the old dual flash thing where your pump gas map is the low octane fuel map and the high octane fuel map is for race gas, then that should be automatic. The high octane map is never custom tuned in that case, though - it's just a little better than the regular pump gas map. You should just get a completely separate map that you load at the track using EcuFlash.

thats what i'm tryin to say. i would like to know if al has a map for my mods that i could flash for high octane, 100 or 110 octane @28psi. i have the tactrix cable and ecuflash if i could possibly get a map so i could flash it at the track this weekend's event. would like to hit an 11sec!

He would have had to custom tune you on race gas to provide you that separate map. If he did that last time in NC, then he could email it to you, but he doesn't do mail-in, non-custom tuned maps for race gas.

hhmmmm. ok. just thought maybe he custom tuned someone else's 05 with close to the same mods with racefuel and i could maybe get a map. i have a datalogger w/wideband, innovative, that if i could get a map that could be close i could possibly fine tune it?
