Well, the answer to this question is not really important nor relevant, because it's just a made up guess. We don't know the exact drivetrain parasitic loss %, and we have reason to believe that the loss % is not linear as power increases, so there's really no way to know, and the number is not u seful anyway, since there's no way to measure it without an engine dyno.

If I had to guess, though, I would say closer to 400hp. 350-360 is only 20-30 more than 330, which is less than 10%. No regular car has a drivetrain loss of 10%...AWD is usually closer to 20%.

Its not, but its a safety thing. I'll be getting one before I get custom tuned next month.

the car running that much boost needs an upgraded fuel pump.

Not on the IX it doesn't. The stock fuel pump flow was bumped for 2006.

Not required, but still recommended.

If thats the level the customer is taking the car too I think its not worth the investment & considering the 50% chance your going to get the infamous fuel pump whine noise its a no brainer from my perspective.

Not required but recommended just does not sound right, unless its put a different way as in 'recommended if you plan on a turbo upgrade or cams at a later date' (or whatever we calculate that requirement to be after specific mod(s) on the IX).

As the unofficial 'spend your Evo mod money wisely' guru Im sure you can understand my point of view as this is clearly an investment with zero return at that level of modifications.

Res, you're free to have your opinions, but they really aren't relevant to this thread. Feel free to make a thread in the Evo Engine forum saying how you don't think it's wise to spend $79 on a fuel pump in a IX if the person is only running 23-24psi.

In my opinion, and that of most people, it doesn't hurt to go ahead and upgrade the fuel pump. Who said these people ONLY plan to do these basic mods? Whether they do or don't, there is no negative to installing the fuel pump - it is a very cheap safety mod. We do not actually know how strong the IX fuel pump is, and we'd rather not find out its limit by blowing the engine on a IX just from being stubborn. I do not have the fuel pump upgrade in the package, because we think the IX fuel pump is stronger. However, if people want to toss it in before their tune, then what's the problem? Al, as a very experienced tuner, recommends it just to be safe on the IX. However, it is REQUIRED on the VIII, otherwise he won't provide the tune. That's what I mean by "not required, but recommended." We still think it's a good idea to do it "just in case." Referring to the "infamous whine" as a deterrent is weak. That whine is expected and is no big deal - it's nothing compared to ensuring the fuel supply to your engine.

I ordered mine last Wednesday, waiting for it to get here still then i'll install it this weekend, then send out flash on Monday. I'll let you know how it goes...

Warr, when sending my ECU in to get flashed by Al, do I need to tell him that I have a ebay o2 housing and LICP or does it not matter..?

Talking Nice

You will definitely notice a HUGE gain in performance.....Had the Warrtalon / BR package existed when I did my Dynoflash mod, I would have gone with it ....

Next up for me is TBE, Cams, & Fuel Pump.....As well as data logger....

Dean, no, you don't have to. It is totally up to you. When you do the next round of mods, consider it, but don't just add it to what you already have by itself.

CJ, maybe consider using the EvoScan datalogger that works with the EcuFlash cable? It's really nice and is only $15. I'm using it now...

Guerillah, yes, be sure to list every mod when you send your ECU to include the brand names.
