QUESTION: For a Base Flash, 06 IXs
- Base mail-in flash customized for your mods and a brief drive to ensure quality = $175 (no longer requires an appointment)
Does this include a wide-band in the exhaust during the brief drive? To ensure A/F is all right (not lean.. etc) Or is it only to ensure theres no hesitation or something in the powerband......
Thanks,

Sashin, why does it matter if you work Fri/Sat? You can get tuned on Sunday. Deposits are non-refundable unless there are extenuating circumstances. If you leave yours and get tuned on Sunday, then we just need one more. Ralph would be the logical choice, since he's the reason I made this thread to begin with...

Why would you decide not to get a custom tune? It's a rare opportunity to have the custom tuning right there at your fingertips. You can get a base flash anytime, anywhere. This is for CUSTOM TUNING. If people don't sign up, the trip isn't going to happen.

I would appreciate the courtesy to recieve my deposit back since I tried to help to make this trip happen. If it was last minute I would totally understand, but I just sent payment a few days ago. And also cancelled as soon as I found out. Trust me if there was anything I could do to make it happen I would... Let me know, again I am sorry about not making it guys..Sashin

Yes, it's not a problem when you notify well in advance. It's really only a problem when people do it AFTER Al has booked his ticket. The part about helping make the trip happen doesn't apply since your backing out makes it harder, haha, but it's not a big deal.
^^^i would but dont have mods...soo there wouldnt be a reason too do a CUSTOM TUNE!! i just wanted a BASIC FLASH..but imma try to get one of my buddies too get a CUSTOM TUNE soo will seee. No, 3 isn't nearly enough to cover the expenses of such a long trip. Think about the travel costs to include the airfare, hotel, rental car, and food. Even if you're stock, a custom tune is better than a base flash.
Warrtalon, how is it better if you are stock with no mods and seeking a baseflash, and how can a custom tune be better? Just want to know how it will work for a stock IX. May change my mind, from a baseflash to custom, if it really benefits. On the other hand, I just can't see how it would help a stock IX. Educate me please

I don't know man... I know that every car is different and if you are gaurenteed 20hp from a baseflash and more for a custom tune.. I'm waiting on Warrtalon's reply to give more info, "from a stock" standpoint.

Because it doesn't matter if you're stock or if you have 10 mods - the flash is going to do the same thing. It's going to optimize your AFRs, your timing, and the MIVEC settings. A base flash will do all of that in a very conservative fashion. A custom tune will maximize everything while still staying below the knock threshold. It's not a matter of absolute peak WHP gains, but rather area under the curve gains with a smoother powerband and a perfect tune designed exactly for how your car runs. Take 10 stock Evo IXs, and none will run exactly the same. A base flash is a great thing, don't get me wrong, but any chance you have to get a custom tune for only $400 should be taken advantage of. Most of the rest of the country pays $650 minimum for any flash, and other car platforms pay even more than that. Many people would KILL to get a 2hr custom tune for only $400...
