Those cars also run 24+psi on 91oct by manipulating the boost hoses and restrictor pills. Notice this car is barely above stock peak boost. Those cars also have full exhausts, not cat-backs. And...they are custom tuned on a dyno for $750, not e-flashed for less than $100...

My IX posted 332 whp and 294 wtq on a dynojet with the mods that would be considered the Warrtalon package. I got exactly the numbers as advertised by Al with the Eflash while still running 22 psi boost on 93 octane.

Abner,

Socorro (Evo9grl) 304/304whp on a mustang dyno on 91oct:

Buschur cone
Unos MBC
Greddy Evo II cat
LPIdownpipe
Mail in flash

Definately way more than 20whp, I would say nearly 40whp on a dynojet.

Take care Abner! Do you still have the same number? I own you a call

Carlos

You guys are getting the mail-in flash and eflash confused I think.

A few points for all these folks to consider

First this car had a HKS suction intake which distorts the MAF sensor reading and results in a super lean a/f through the middle of the power band and lots of detonation

What few people are observing is not only that I was making more power with the E FLASH tune but that also I was making the tune safer with less detonation and a more realistic a/f ratio.

of course as in this gentleman's case 93 octane will provide much more power gains than 91

I am never attempting to set power records on 91 octane

Al,

We don't even have to go into detail on your great mail-in flash product. I am living proof that your mail in flash transformed our Evo 9 into a very powerfull car.

What is happening is that people are reporting lower numbers primarily due to lower boost setting. Anyone on this forum is free to access my dyno pulls on the Evo 9, it is the matter of boost.

Your mail in flashes are very well capable of nearly 40whp, people just need to increase the boost. the 20whp number that you advertize is actually the lowest conservative number, the reality is that your mail in flashes almost double your conservative claims.

Ironically a friend of mine (Bill) decided to duplicate my mods and got identical and even better dyno results. It is not me saying, is me proving anyone that the mail in falshes on these Evo 9 are making well above 20whp when properly boosted.

This is not fiction, this is fact.

Carlos

Again, this thread is discussing the base eflash, not the mail in flash, two different things according to even Al.

from post #1 it still appears this guy's running about stock boost, a stock downpipe, AND a stock cat, so i think the numbers are decent for a base flash. with a test pipe and 2 psi, he'd probrably have gained close to 30+.

Carlos, you know, its a hit or missed situation.......its good for simple mods. Take yourself on your MR as an example, it responded real good initially, what happened in the last 1 or 2 tunes? Even with all that increased volume in methanol?

So true .. First tune was excellent. Second tune was also good(great dyno numbers), third tune I ruined puting certain mods that did not help but hurt it more.

Switching from alcohol to methanol did virtually nothing. Switching from #7 to a #10 nozzle also did not do much. Installing a huge IC core ruin my spool up and robbed me boost. Header cracked and never helped me much neither on trap speed nor et however I never complained of knock or engine malfunction.

At the end of the day Abner look around, my car drives everyday on 91oct full boost and I race it just about every other week at the track. It runs strong!

Abner, big turbo? not yet. The last few big turbokit cars fitted on friends Evos and running at SIR ran slower than mine with stock turbo. I can wait a bit more.

Carlos and Abner please keep your off topic dialouge on PM
Thanks

Well this thread went downhill fast.

Definatly needs to be leaned out a tad in the midrange.

Boost is kinda all over the place, I imagine that is thanks to the wonderful world over overpriced ebc's?

I didn't notice that it was 3" catback and not TBE.

Abner got 3 days because I had not seen everything he wrote when I initially warned him.
Warrtalon got 7 days because he continued after already being warned.
