I just want to put my 2c. I drove the GSX on Saturday and man!!!!! it was fast. I didn't think this little car was going to grow such big *****!!!!! At first Carlos used to tell me how fast they can be with the right mod combo but I was a little skeptical. I'm a believer. I'll take video when we take it to the track, I'm sure we won't be dissapointed

I just fixed an issue that the car had during the tuning, The car was missfiring bad. It would missfire under full throtle.

The problem was corrected after Al suggested it could be perhaps the sparkplug cables or spark plugs. I replaced both(NGK spark plug wires) and I also put some BPRS7IX(I am not sure If I said correctly).

The car was running at the track 2 weeks ago trapping 106mph on low boost, at 91oct and misfiring. The misfiring made me think it was some sort of fuel cut or knock.

The car will see the dyno soon, I am specifically waiting for a special custom made 02 hosuing and an intake pipe (from air filter to turbo), I will additionally add some race gas and my project will be over.

I want it to put this car duplicating the performance of an Evo with the same exact tools, mods and even the same dyno and tuning.

If you pay attention to the mods, this car truly uses the exact same replica parts that you would put on your Evo. If you see Eclipses GSX with mods on the street give them respect as they are cousins of the Evos and in some aspesct they even have advantages (weight, aerodynamic).

If for A or B reason you can't afford an Evo or if you have an Evo and have to sell it for family/finantial issues I can asure you that you can't go wrong with the 2G AWD but please get it AWD or don't get them at all.

Again, thanks for the compliments and for reading. I will keep you guys posted.

Carlos

No way Jose!! Maybe mid 12's in Phoenix, high 12's in Tucson. I would be happy with low 12's on Phoenix with race gas. We'll see. I am always very conservative predicting my times.

There were really low budget parts on this project:

$125 used Evo IC
spare Evo 8 MR plastic BOV
cheap 680 injectors $260(I actually could have use a set of used Evo 8 Injectors)
Cheap new turbo $525
custom built IC pipes
cheap new forced performance cams ($440)
fuel pump $85(new)
$75 Hallman(new)
SMC kit
Buschur full 3"
Air filter came with it.

truly a portion of the overbudget I put on my Evo 8.

great numbers carlos. Cant wait to see it at the track. We need to take a trip up to speedworld one day before I go to the desert. Im thinking of slapping on the afi 50 trim kit when I get back. Wif e says I got to get the second job dow. We will see Good to see your numbers. Hope I get my ride back before I even go to the dirt. We wil see.
