I think its a flash with cossie cams and a Buschur 3065 kit! the car is SICK!!!

Al, I am sorry bro but i am not impressed by the Subarus mate! Don't gat me wrong though... they are amazing cars, nicer interior, incredible sound and they are good cars in general! But mod to mod and dollar to dollar the Evos are unbeatable!

If Evos had the Subaru displacement simply they would considered Hyper Exotic, performance wise...

a test pipe would be a 10-15whp gain on the Evo, and lift the entire curve from mid-range all the way to redline.

and yea recently a local IX with bolt-on's and Cosworth cams on 91 oct just put down 360whp and 350wtq, and on 100 oct. it was 390whp and 360wtq. there were 2 other IX's with similar mods both making 35xwhp and similar or more torque on 91 oct. this is all on dynojet.

on 93 i'm sure more power could be squeezed out, as we all know 91 oct. is absolute **** crap.

This has now been 2 07 STi vs. Evo IX comparisons where both Evos have had a BOOST LEAK. I guess the moral of the story is that a properly tuned STi is almost = to a IX with a BOOST LEAK. Come on man. What the hell is going on.

It looks like your car held LESS boost on top with the Forge WGA, just curiuos some members are claiming like 25psi all the way across and others not having great results. What boost did you hold just off the actuator and which spring did yours come with. I gained about 1psi on high end but smoother feeling boost.

Well in the beginning we tried to preload the wg enough to hold better boost. At 23psi spike would hold it completely flat and actually at around 4700rpm it would raise it (!!!) to around 24.5psi and then taper. However the car was knocking and decided to put less load on the wastegate and use much less boost.

At that moment this was the best thing to do as we couldn't empty my 3/4 full gas tank!

Don't get confused, even the 344whp pull has the forge unit on but with very little preload.

What i am doing right now it empty the crappy fuel that i have, get a fresh tank of Shell V-power and starting playing with the boost controller to see if the car will stop knocking at higher boost levels. If yes then we know that the problem is the gas.

I try try to keep notes and of course the logs on everything and i will post them! Then i will try the Torco concentrate which is lab proven to raise 10 gallons of 93 to 96.5 (r+m)/2 octane and see if the car can handle even higher boost!

My target is to be able to keep 25-26psi without knocking as i don't mind running the car on 93+Torco all the time. I got me a 5 gallon drum of Torco. Even if i use double the dosage of Torco to raise the octane even higher on a full tank it will last me at least 2500 miles which is around 3 months worth of driving!!!

This is some BS again. I am very happy to report that this past weeken, I did go with my 2 friends that own the 07 STI. I will post videos soon, but let me tell you. They are matched mod for mod the way they seen AL and Buschur did it and also tuned. Guys I have a 04 evo with boltons and evo9 turbo, no fmic, no licp, no uiicp, but everything else. Like I said I have video to prove it. Evo easily by 4 or more cars. When all the video is done I will post it online.

Please stop with the BS comparison. Go and try tp fool the 16 year old STI dirvers please.

numbers

360 with cams on a 9 seems a little low. i have a pretty conservative tune and made 355. i know every car is different but as far as mods on the 9 he did, stock turbo and a fmic does not yeild that much more power

The IX's are very sensitive to any knock

I think its nice that we had the car running as smooth as it was with a cat and zero knock counts through the power band . It felt very good that way.

Torco would be a good idea - as you know my favorite is alchy injection !

Its not that everycar is different. Its that you havent dynoed your car on this same dyno and are comparing your run to his. Unless you have and forgot to mention it. Not trying to bash but I just dont see how your post is relevant considering you didnt mention any of that important info above.

I 've been running the mumbers in my mind Al...

We might do alcohol after all...!!!

However my next move is to change the clutch because there is no point of getting more power if we cannot put it on the road!

Guys, you can only compare cars on dynos only when they are dynoed the same day, with the same dyno, with the same parameters (temp, corrections etc.) and see the differences...

To get a feel of the #s i posted other examples that i saw that day like the 05 Evo 8 (decated TB, IX turbo, HKS280, HKS intake, AMS fmic w/ pipes, custom tuned) which did around 325whp....or even the STI that Al posted.... These you can easily compare...

Don't turn this thread a dyno comparison again!!! we have said it numerous times and agreed (well most of us!!!)
