mbc vs ebc

hi al,

just wanted your opinion on which one you think is better. i will be getting a new boost controller very soon and since you are my tuner i wanted to ask you first. should i go with the aem tru-boost one or stay with a mbc? right now i have the forge type rs and it is the silver one which keeps giving me problems.

thanks,

omid.

but don't you have to regularly clean out the forge in order for the spring to not get stuck?

i got the silver one which i bought about two years ago. if i try to lower or upper the boost a little, the thing jumps up from 23 to 28-30 psi by just one or two clicks. its very frustrating so i dont know if i buy another forge would it keep acting the same way as the one i got???

thanks. omid.

I have the AEM Tru-Boost. Not only does it use a MAP Sensor (which is by far the most accurate) and not only does it set boost within decimals, it allows you to set the crack pressure for faster spoolup AND comes with a guage reading in PSI/BAR?other ones I don't use.

It also records your PEAK boost, it kicks ***, I like it better then my HALMAN MBC.

Don't POP the hood to change boot settings. Get an EBC

Al,

Can you please explain why you would NOT recommend the stock ECU to manage boost? And how could you recommend an MBC over an EBC? I would really love to understand your logic.
