Accurate wideband readings through cat?

Can you still accurately tune AFR if there is a cat on the car? Doesn't that throw off the wideband reading? I've sometimes wondered if the lower dyno numbers that people get with cats on their cars is partially the result of tuning to inaccurate wideband readings. Any thoughts?

We take the cat, no cat or high flow cat into consideration when tuning

Should I mount my wideband before or after the cat for better accuracy? What kind of considerations/compensations should I include if I mount it after my Hi-flow cat?

Thanks AL.
