They called it a "Dyno Flash" - WARNING - all flashes are not created equal!

We had a guy come by today to resolve some "Dyno Flash" issues he had

ONLY problem is that he did not have a "Dyno Flash" or any flash from me

In fact - he had gone to another local shop (tri-state) - who gave him a "Dyno Flash" on his ecu

Now - this partidular customer is a very classy guy who does not want me to name any particular shops or names and I have to respect that

However - I would really like to set the record straight - I am the only source for DYNO FLASH - sure there are other reflashers - but IMHO as far as reflashing goes I have by far the most experience reflashing Evo 8's and I think that my results are unique

Here is what happened when he rolled in with his car - RUN #2 from the "other" shop - note danerously high a/f ratio for pump gas of 12.0 / 1 or higher and no power due to the ecu pulling mega timing as a result of the too lean a/fs

My DYNO FLASH is run # 5

Note the richer a/f ratio and yet running more power and note the massive trq gains which are the hallmark of the real Dyno Flashed ecu

This car had 264 cams, MBC, drop in filter, Walboro fuel pump and a cat back exhaust - - IMHO a down pipe would have helped him to pick up another 10 whp and a intake like the HKS RS or the like would have given at least another 10 whp

I think we got some decent numbers given the level of modifications he had

Most importantly - he came to us becuase he was having problems after he got the other tuned on the dyno "Dyno Flash" from some other shop

The car was running wonderfully after we got done

Beware of anyone claiming to sell the DYNO FLASH - its ONLY available through me

The difficult mission in reflash tuning is to run the car richer and with a greater margin of saftey while also increasing the whp and trq and running significantluy lower egts

Compare the power and a/f ratios

I was impressed when I saw the chart........then I looked at the comparison of the a/f ratios........wow............very telling story. Power + margin of safety, nice work.

Is there any particular reason the tq/hp curves aren't crossing at the same RPM? (5250?)

How much detonation was he experiencing with that fuel curve?? Was it detectable with the knocklink?

Notice again the left and right sides of the sheets. The HP and TQ are not the same scale.

Torque?
If I am not mistaken the left side is the HP scale (upper lines on graph) and the right side is the A/F (lower lines on scale)
The torque numbers are not shown.
