DynoFlash & Missfire

Hey al what's up, i remember reading a post about how u've corrected the whole missfire problem with the dynoflash, anyway, i just got the flash done, and it was fine for a day, and today the CEL came on went to autozone to check on the code, and sure enough it's the Random Cylinder Missfire or something like that don't remember the code but it was PO030 or something like that. anyway please reply thanks

mine did that before the dynoflash(twice actually) but right after i installed the aem intake. the dealership said it was a ''hicup'' in the A/F ratio. it hasnt done it since and i have a mail in flash. its probably nothing, may not even be with the dynoflash. just my .o2

I assume you were getting the code 0300 before the flash also ?

Please keep in mind - we do not take away the code - ALL we do is refine the tuning and MINIMIZE the code.

We thought we had it licked 100% but - we ran across a couple of customers with stubborn cases which could not be fixed - even with our reflash.

Our experience is that the 0300 code occurance is greatly reduced if not eliminated with our reflash. However, we have had some customers who still have the 0300 code after the flash also.

IF you have some underlying issue - eg spark plugs you will still get the code.

SOME stock cars have the problem of this code frequently occuring and to the best of my info there is no difinitive answer as to what causes it.

From my personal experience and webguy330i with the misfire codes and mitsu the EVO is not the first vehicle they have had this issue with. I was told that they have had it on most models and that it is a oversensitivity programmed into the flash. If you do a google search for p0300 you will find all the other model references.
The code may stem from a few different issues, mine warranted a tranny replacement. I would take it to the dealer and push them for a repair. They are supposed to have a flash to fix it soon.

BTW, Al I just got my MBC installed and coupled with your reflash. DAMN!! I will have to make my dyno appointment for next month.

Thanks Al.

How do spark plugs affect it. Hey Al, with my turboback, MBC@19psi, and intake; should I go to a heat range colder then stock before my custom tune?

Thanx,
Guack

I use stock heat range at 530 whp - we see some fouling when you go colder

I have changed the sparkplugs before i got the flash, i changed them to the NGK 9's which were two steps colder then the stock 7's and it may be me but it feels like it's gotten worse with them...

Hey, MSanad, those plugs you have in there now are way to cold. They are prob fouling out and causing the missfire. try going back to the stock ones and see how it acts. Then maybe try the 8's later. If al uses the stock plugs on his car I would do the same.

Keep in mind - I only run the 7's b/c I run C-16 and misfire is a bigger threat than detonation

On pump gas - the 8's some times help - BUT we see them fouling very quick

The NGK copper are like 2.00 each and work great
