E85 - 13:1 (gasoline AFR) - ACK!
According to Autocenter.net MITSU does sell the fuel filter separately for $4.93. It is item #20 on the attached diagram. Has anyone actually bought this filter and proven that it can't be replaced?
I think $107.04 for a new fuel filter by buying the entire assembly seems pretty extreme.
MrFred did you change your fuel filter yet? If so, did it affect your AFRs?

Yeah, I kinda figured you would have looked into it. If the filter is clogged, I'm kinda surprised that more people are not having this problem. My car has less than 30K miles on it. I'd guess that people are having the problem but not realizing it.

I finally have the info that I need to revisit this thread. Back in December when I noticed the AFRs had gone one point leaner, a dirty fuel filter seemed like an obvious reason, but in the back of my mind, I have been wondering whether it might be something else such as E85 not atomizing well in cold weather or perhaps a batch of fuel that was closer to E95.
To fix the 13:1 lean condition back in December, I just richened up the fuel table by 1 pt. That brought the AFRs down to ~11.5:1-12:1. I just got another set of logs this morning with the exact same "richened" tune in the exact same air temps, and the AFRs are right at 11.0:1, so it seems that for whatever reason, my E85 supplier made a batch of fuel in December that was very high in ethanol content. Makes me wish I would have hooked up my E85 gauge long ago (its on the slate for this week or next week).
