At 6,500rpm, I am at 29psi and it drops to 28psi by 7,500rpm. I'm not logging MAF Hz, unfortunately.

What are you curious about? Whether I am truly running out of fuel? I am just suspecting I am, since I keep adding fuel in the fuel map without seeing any significant A/F ratio changes at higher RPM.

Just curious about timing related to boost levels. MAF Hz would be better data for me just because I use it to judge airflow more than boost.

Thanks for the info.

I can log 2byte airflow and post the numbers later on. I have been limiting the number of items I'm logging via EvoScan since I'm using JOT's VDR (virtual dyno) to monitor the results.

Bryan,

Here is a 3rd gear pull (6-spd trans) with that timing map. I'm using the OmniPower 4-bar MAP sensor and AEM wideband. RPM, Load, and Airflow are the 2-byte values.

Code:

Thanks for the log. There is more in that Red for sure. BBK full can flow more Hz than that.

Get more fuel and boost.

Do you have factory induction tube or? Any porting other than turbo?

Yeah, there is definitely some more power to be made with more boost. I am doing mods slowly just to see what kind of effect/gains each one has. I did the turbo with stock cams, then put in the FP4R cams, and next will put in the dual pump set-up and turn up the boost.

I have FP's 3" intake pipe for the 80mm compressor housing. Nothing is ported yet; I plan on getting the exhaust manifold, turbine housing, throttle body, and intake manifold all ported this winter.

would you be able to post a pic of your mivec map? or the "spool up" area at least? thanks!

(I am still have the tip in knock issue at roll on 3-4k rpm)

Here's my current MIVEC map. I honestly haven't played around with it too much with my current setup. I just got a bunch of ideas from other members here, and then put the map together.

I know this is old, but what did you do to get the stock turbo to taper to 25psi? Heck on mine it tapers to 20. Then again I have a hallman mbc.

I'm actually running the GM 3 port now and using Direct PSI control. My "street" map is 29 psi tapering to 24-25 and my "autox" map is a straight 22psi. I will never go back to a MBC after learning how to tune boost with the ECU. The consistency of ecu controlled is awesome.

On a side note, I was running the Buschur MBC and that was easily able to do 30 with a taper to 24.

Sweet! I guess I'll try out the GM 3 port then. Cause right now it spikes to 28 and tapers to a sad 20. Then again I don't have anything ported, and all stock IC pipes at the moment.

hi guys,

I have just got my tephra v7 bigmaps up and running and am going to self tune on tuesday.. on worry though.

I noticed the timing logged on evoscan is 2-4 deg more than what the map says between 90 and 200 load... above it seems pretty close (1 fdeg at most - rounding offf the interp?) and below 90 its spot on.

What do you guys think it is? is it evoscan logging wrong or is it a wrong setting in ecuflash on the bigmaps

Mike

I take it you wouldn't get that good of a gas mileage on that map like cruising on the expressway? Because you aren't running that much timing advance in the cruise area...
