I'll be installing my GM flex fuel sensor this week and am trying to decide a good place to mount it. If you have some time, please post a pic showing the location where your GM flex fuel sensor is mounted. Thanks.

 

I have mine zip tied to the strut bar, right in front of the brake fluid resevoir. I also have the "tubes" pointed downwards. I'm out of town now but i can take pics when i'm back home.

 

Do you see much variation in the ethanol content gauge when you go WOT?

 

No variance in ethanol % at WOT for me. The only thing that variates a little is the fuel temperature..

 

sensor zip tied to the OEM strut bar. Fuel tubes are facing downwards Note, I put a black wristband around the sensor to keep the popo at bay. Its a pain to remove the wristband, so i pushed away as much as i could.

Did you ever install the flex fuel sensor yet?

 

I'll be installing it next week. :-) Still haven't decided where I'll mount it. I'm hoping that once I place the sensor in the engine bay, a good location will become apparent.

Did you use zip ties to attach it to the strut bar or you make some sort of a bracket?

 

Mine's just zip tied like yours. Would be cool if someone could fab some brackets though =)

 

My ethanol % reading drops a bit at WOT, I've always just assumed it was because there wasn't enough fuel in the return line to get a good reading.. not sure

 

The FF sensors needs to be full of fuel or the readings are unstable. We have seen a drop by 1% at WOT, but with big injectors and fuel pump working 30% harder you may see a higher drop. What numbers are you seeing

 

What is the purpose of this sensor?
