E85/meth combo
i had a buddy who did this . if i remember correctly with the 9 turbo at 30psi he got 380whp im not sure tq on the mustang dyno, with the mix . im not sure he had any downside thou.

I don't think its a valuable combo. Meth lowers combustion temps and increases knock resistance. E85 does this as well (to the point of being able to run timing right up to MBT), so I don't think meth will provide any substantial gains with E85.
There is no point in doing this combination.
Tuning with e85 alone, you can advance the ignition timing to the point where it no longer provides any gains. I can't remember what that point is called...

Why would your friend need to do this at this power level. Way overkill and provides no extra benefits over e85 alone.

It's called MBT like mentioned above. I don't see any point in doing it either.
It is not that serious to remove that amount of weight to have a tune strictly reliant on liquid intercooling. You're screwed if you run out of w/m on a street driven car.
Really the only reason I was wondering, was not for power so much, but more for the "cooling effect" of meth. After seeing what I've been able to do with my car on E85, I guess there really isn't a point. I was thinking of the theory of running cold fuel and cold "air" and how it would react.
Wow. What TWA was referring to was my car. An 04 RS with a IX turbo, cams, studs, BR race core, lower pipe, full 3 inch. Homeamade intake. Pump, PTE1000's, and an old SMC kit.
Car was running on 100 unleaded, had maps for meth and without. When I switched to E85 it didn't gain a whole lot over the 100. I made two maps for it. Really not much difference in power. Think uncorrected it was 384 on E85 and with meth 387. More than anything the meth would help when its 115 out here with cooling the intake. Even in normal weather its cooling effect can be seen in on the dyno.
I never considered removing the intercooler? Did a lot of testing with timing and yes at MBT the timing is almost identical with e85 versus E85/meth. I run it a little leaner with the meth than the E85 by itself. Not an everyday car nor a tune I would put on anyones car but my own.
One side benefit with the meth is if I put on a red or similar bolt on turbo. Won't necessarily need a double pump setup. Currently has a lot of room to work with fuelwise on its current map. Could go from 390's its at now corrected up to 450-470 on a red on the current fuelsetup. Most likely then it will be out of fuel.
