May get the Zeitronix Ethanol Content Analyzer but need advice.
So my car runs on E85 and for the winter they switch to e70 i believe and so i need to know when they switch so i can get my car retuned. So i looked into the Zeitronix Ethanol Content Analyzer and im wondering if anyone knows if my a/f will change when they do the switch for the winter ? If it does i really wouldnt need the analyzer. If anyone has any idea please let me know. Iv never ran e85 and im really scared the cars going to run like ****. thanks
oh also would anyone know if i could purchase Zeitronixs Ethanol Content Analyzer and just get a ethanol sensor from a junk yard ??? are they all the same in in all the cars that come from the factory running off of ethanol?
Yes you can just purchase the ECA itself without the sensor. Compatibile sensors are found here: http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/ECA/ECA.htm
How much do GM ethanol sensors go for from scrap yards? I've gotta think there are millions of them out there... If I find a GM sensor, is there anything else related that I need to take? Wiring harness, etc?
Can the output of this be read by, say, EvoScan, or is an ECA 100% needed?

You can find the GM sensors in junkyards, but if you tell the guy in the junkyard its an ethanol sensor and he notices that the MSRP is around $700ish, you'll still pay a pretty penny for it. Mebbe you can pull the part and tell the clerk is a EGR valve or something like that :P
I believe the ECA has some soft of way to convert the signal from the sensor to analog. So, unless you have a way to convert the signal to analog laying around, then you'll need the ECA

The sensor outputs a waveform signal. 50 Hz = 0% ethanol, 150 Hz = 100% ethanol. The ECA converts the waveform signal to an analog signal that can be read through an ADC input.
