Yesterday i realized this question - what about track days? Do all tracks have e85? I don't remember seeing it at Limerock. I'd be SOL at the track on e85 i think.

Too much hassle for me. One gas station that has e85 is 30 mins away. Not very convenient in my books.

Why not? There's an E85 station < 2 miles from my house and there's one kinda on the way to and from work.

At 50-70 cents/gallon cheaper than 93... the math works in my favor as long as I don't drive like a maniac.

I have been running E85 exclusively since Julyish and I have the map switch...there has been times I went back to pump and I flip the switch and drive normally. I actually don't think its that bad switching from E to pump....going in reverse scares me more so I usually run it as dry as i dare and then fill up with E....drive out a have a tank and top it off.

I daily drive my Evo (That will change next year) with no issues. There is E85 scattered around Atlanta at various points (The closest one is 3 minutes away and there is another gas station 5-10 minutes away). No reason why you can use the map switch and DD your car.....its much safer then running meth in my opinion.

With the price difference and mileage difference it literally breaks even for me if I drive the car the same way on both types of fuel. The only difference is I like running home grown stuff (Ok that a little cheesy but I don't want to put another platinum CLK-GTR in another foreigners palace), and the by product is a stupid jump in horse power. Raced a guy with a FP Red and stock IC an we were dead even up to 5th gear...not bad for a couple hundred investment.

Best modification you could make to your car in my opinion.

E85 is about the best thing you can do when you are trying to reach your high hp goal. I mean other than that there is no reason to run E85.

Also I would not run E85 in a daily driver. I mean sure you can attain high boost levels with this fuel, but it does hurt gas mileage considerably. I can honestly tell you that in one week of driving with E85 cost about 80+ in gas a week GUARANTEED

Its cheaper so it offsets the cost of going back sooner...you will end up breaking even or if you have a lead foot spending a few dollars more.....For a 50-70hp jump and supports a US home grown industry......its more then worth it.

I agree, its worth it. I fill up 3 times a week at most with 60 miles or so a day driven. And its just over 20 bucks a time. So we are talking 60-70 bucks a week tops. I was paying about the same for premium being a dollar more for that.

and if youre willing spend more money you could always invest in Hamish's GPS logger. you can store ROMs on the SD card and switch ROMs whenever you want.

I'm really considering making the swap. soon too. just gotta get the 1200cc injectors and give mellon a call.

santa needs to give me a really badass xmas gift of injectors.
