1200cc not enough?

Got a question.

I built a car for a friend, custom double pump, twin walbro's and PTE 1200cc injectors.

2.0L, 80mm fp red, buschur stage 3 head, kelfords, E85, 32psi

Car made 505whp on a mustang dyno. Found a boost leak and fixed it. Now its running 110% duty to get in the 11's afr wise.

Has anyone else run out of injector at this point? Or should I be looking for another problem?

thanks.

I'd say you ran out of injector.

A lot of high HP E85 powered EVOs are running much larger injectors. I suggest 1,650cc while you are at it.

that is bizarre, I thought 1200's would easily go to 550ish on e85

Not that I would know cuz I don't but would a higher flowing fuel rail help? Seems like there have been a few guys here running 1200's and e85 that have made more with a larger rail. Just a thought. Might be easier just to cut to the chase a do the injectors from the get go?

I drilled out the end of the fuel rail where its fed from, Its got 3/8 hose from the pumps all the way into the rail. I cant imagine the injectors are emptying the rail.

Getting a fuel pressure regulator this weekend and going to log the fuel pressure see if we cant get it sorted.

Thanks for all the input.

BlueMax 1450 or 1550 probably work out well.

I maxed out BlueMax 1450's at 620whp on a PT6262 on E85 on our Mustang Dyno.

Might try adding FPR and some base pressure.. also which Double pumper?? we made 720whp on E85 on 1200's.. Not normal results by any means but you may have some more left in there with FPR..

Have you tried logging fuel pressure?
By my calculations 1200's seem a wise choice for that power level while maintaining an acceptable amount of control.

Those injectors are rated to flow about 10% more when fuel pressure is increased to around 50 psi. If you go to RC website (the PTE and RC 1200 seem to be very similar) they basically flow around 1076cc worth with stock Evo pressure. But if you are at 110% duty cylce already even increasing pressure will still put you at 100%. Better too much injector than not enough. Reasonably speaking.

Good Luck

I got a fpr coming, and will log fp before I buy Injectors.

I built the double pump, It's similar to yours just that the pumps are fed into a block inside the tank and there is only one outlet. The block has 2 1/4 inlets and one 3/8 outlet.

If I bump the base fp to 50psi and run 32+ psi of boost I'll be at 82+ psi fp. From what I read the in tank walbros fall off around 80psi? I was gonna try and stay under that.

thanks

Logged the fuel pressure and its defiantly out of injector. Think im gonna get a set of 1600's.
