I'm at 28 psi, and I love to get on the boost, but it's probably around 1% of the time I spend driving. Otherwise it's cruising. I'm leaned out at 17 afr in idle and cruise, my timing is pretty advanced. What's the real secret to better mpg? BTW, driving 55mph is not an option on our 75 mph highway. I believe I'd get my a$$ kicked.

I'm getting 15mpg, 25% less than on pump 93 which is about right when switching to corn.

^ I want to know your secret...gotta be inside the tune somewhere...

I drive like a normal person and barely get into boost...and am seeing like 200-220 per tank...no way could I even get close to 300...I was getting that on 93 but def not on e85.

Yeah...that isn't normal. On e85 it's unheard of. Who was your tuner?

I get about 180 on a full tank, all city driving, lots of stop and go, not much boosting. If I do boost I can easily take it down to 120 to 130.

I averaged 160-190 on E. On pump 230-250. There is no way you are getting 350 mpg on E85. Thats impossible. Please share with us how you (or your tuner) achieved that).

Best I've done on E85 without getting into boost (which on a stock frame turbo is damn near impossible without driving so slow I'm a liability) was 210 miles on on 93 was 280.

He's getting 300 and most was 350.

I can see the same thing if not getting on the gas too much.
Couple weeks ago I drove to saratoga springs and got 350 on one tank.
Yes, the light came on, lol.

My tuner is in my sig.

Been running e85 for almost 2 years now. There is one station about 3 mi from me and thats about it for this area (NE).

Power is nice but start up in cold weather blows. I have to run it on alt maps because of lack of availibility and range which limits my options to tune.

I usually get a few months in the summer out of it, but by and large I can get more power on the street with better drivabillity from dialing in 93.

Great race gas substitute but for DD I think I'll stay with 93 as much as I want to run e85.

to get better MPG on e85 you need to do the same thing you would do on pump gas. Lean out the AFR's add timing in low load areas. Stay out of boost as much as possible.

Start at 16.0 and work your way leaner and see how your MPG is affected. The biggest part to MPG is driving habits.

I'm guessing it may have something to do with E70 or less ethanol. I don't think I can run much leaner in my idle and cruise. Maybe I need to adjust my higher loads (100-300). I might be going too rich too soon.

BTW, what's the point of E85 and never boosting? If I had to go to Naturally Aspirated (which is basically what you're doing by staying off boost) I'd switch to 91 octane.

Well I just drove down to h2o in maryland this weekend and drove the whole way on one full tank.. 275 miles and still had probably another 30 miles in it but I wanted to pour out the 3 2 gallons containers of e85 that I had in my trunk already which was just enough to cruise around h2o all weekend and get me to the e85 gas station in Bear, Delaware(which is about 110 miles away from ocean city, md) before going home.. and right now im at 150 miles at half tank...
