The Abstract is your Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF) which is located on page 2.

IE - E85 is less temperature sensitive and displays higher knock resistance then gasoline.

Since no one wants to read...

Cliffs:
Sensitivity to spark timing is diminished with E85
Peak pressure sensitivity to spark timing is about 50% lower
E85 could withstand 265*F IAT and 30*timing before any knock was present (during load)
E85 combustion phasing is about 25% less sensitive to spark timing than gas since it burns FASTER
E85 achieves more volumetric combustion

This is why tuners love it, they have more room for error on a tune before anything bad happens.

Well, those same strengths allow a poor tuner to surpass MBT and fold rods in half.

Thanks for the link, I'll have to read it when I get a few to spare.

It also leads to a false sense of security.
These studies have been around for some time, the question is, how long before the goverment starts to allow Legal Conversion for more then three for four cars. Not that it's enforced or makes any difference at the Smog Station, but hopefully drives more awareness for alternative fuels and the ease of conversions.

Forgot to add, the tests where done on a 4 cylinder GM Direct Injection motor. Not sure how this would change the results for a FI car.

the article says it's about e85 in FI engines. Was that not the case?

Buy an Ethanol Content Analyzer ladies and gents.

Then your E85 set up would be complete.

When you pump E85, you don't always get E85.

Takes care of that other margin of error tuners can't help you with!
