In practice, those values can be ignored

It is simply a number which you adjust up or down to dial in the a/f the way you want on the car

In order to "correct" the A/F tables it is necessary to adjust the MAF sesnor calibration table - a 2d value which is not included in this particular softwear

Through carful and close observation of the MAF sesnsor scaling values you can restore the A/F maps to accuracyu even on a heaviliy modified engine

Awesome. I figured it was something similar to that. Its just nice to finally know what the stock timing maps are. Helps me in learning alot more.

dynoflash, when you do mail in flashes how do you know how each cars modifications will affect AFR across the board? I mean If I told you I had the mods in my signature.....do you go like ok...this guy has a TBE....that RICHENS the AFR across the board....do you have a table reference of what mods affect AFR by what amount? im trying to do a "base flash" on my car with the mods in my sig.

as soon as datalogging software is released for the openport 1.3M cable I will be logging and tuning....until then...i will be awaiting my aem uego to arrive and use a digital camera to videotape my WB gauge and tach to see what my AFR is in each rpm range (using slow-mo playback) will this suffice?

no beacuse you won't have anyway to check for knock retard. Your AFR's can be dead on 11.5 but the car might be pulling 6-7 degrees of timing.

I have an innovative dl-32 logger. (boost, rpm, ignition, egt, maf voltage, AFR, o2 voltage)

at the very least a palm pocket logger, i would recomend the Innovative AUX Box with xd-16 guage, or the Zeitronix.

i don't like the aem guage, it might be cheap but i;ve ha=d problems with it's calibrations being as far as .4 off

you can buy the palm 100 for like $10 on amazon. and the cable is about 85. there are alot of programs that will work on a laptop only problem is that most are db9 serial ports and when you use a serial port to usb adaptor if screws up the signal. so unless you have a 9 pin serial port you might be screwed.

you wouldn't be able to, thats why if your serious about learning to tune and doing is properly you should buy the right equipment.

at the very least you have to be able to log rpm, timing, and AFR. everything else would be a bonus.

It becomes like anything else, After you do this for enough time, you get a feel for different modifications and their affect on how the car runs.. He can't give you a "custom set-on-kill tune" simply because he has to leave a margin of safety in there to accomodate a car that just runs different than ones he's seen.. But overall, some modifications have specific impact on MAF readings, or Boost Levels, or Overall Volumetric efficiency, when you work with different combinations enough, you get a feel for it and you can build a very close map without even running the car.
