IC maps?
IC maps?
Anyone know what the intercooler spray (IC) maps do? I'd like to change
the intercooler spraying logic on automatic mode in my 03 evo. Say, have
the IC sprayer start whenever I go WOT only. Is this possible?

My understanding was that in auto mode it would only spray 2 seconds on 5 seconds off. Repeat.
Using manual mode I've kept it spraying for way longer than 2 sec at a time so I don't believe that burns out the motor.

The IC maps are as follows:
IC relay control EV ------ no idea
IC relay control vehicle speed ------ speed above/below which it wont turn on?
IC relay timer control water temp ----- Hi and Lo settings, no idea
IC relay timer control RPM ---- rpm below which it wont spray?
IC relay timer ON mode switch time --- no idea
IC relay timer Air Temp ---- below this temp it wont spray? Where is the air
temp sensor on the stock car? Do we have one? Is it after the intercooler?
IC relay timer control judgement --- Hi and Lo settings. NO friggin clue.
IC relay timer time --- On and Off fields. Specifies duty cycle?
Anyone have any insight please share.

Keep in mind that the washer fluid has to EVAPORATE for it to be of any value, so spraying it constantly, or spraying then pausing, makes very little difference.. it just has to stay wet and absorb heat to evaporate..
The evaporation process can be very quick with a fast airflow, a large surface area and a volume of water that starts as a fine mist.
Its likely that the car operates regularly in regimes where the evaporation process is not the rate limiting step....say above 60mph on a hot, dry day with an already heat saturated intercooler.
In any case, I'd still like to know what the control logic is and how to adjust it.
Bump.

My system is inactivated due to W/M but there still remains a dormant relay energized circuit controlled manualy via switch and automatically via ECU (and allthe fun parameters on EcuFlash)
I have plans for this one, I just haven't figured what for LOL

What I'm going to try when I get time is wire an indicating lamp inside to visulize it's operation when I put it into auto.
The former denso pump circuit that is controlled by a relay enrgized by ECU in respect to those mentioned parameters will be used.
My ultimate goal is to set the coolant temp parameter such that I can warned when coolant temp is slightly above operating conditions. The ECU will think that it's cooling the IC off but actually will be energizing my newly termed "coolant temp high relay" which illuminates the "engine temp slightly higher than normal" lite.
Just to help avoid head gasket problems.
